  1. This is what it says in n the document reciprocity page for Indonesian: ”Available. A marriage certificate (Akte Perkawinan or Surat Nikah) is issued by the following offices for the following population groups: 1) Moslem - the Kantor Urusan Agama (KUA - Office of Religious Affairs); 2) all other religions - a solemnization certificate must first be recorded with the Civil Registry office (Dinas Kependudukan and Catatan Sipil). Please note that the marriage is considered legally valid from the date of recording, not the date of solemnization.” Do you have a Akte Perkawinan or Surat Nikah from the Kantor Urusan Agama (KUA - Office of Religious Affairs)?
  2. They have the luggage carts there. Will she have a credit card or dollars on her?
  3. No, income that won’t continue after you move doesn’t count. If you don’t move back ahead of time you will need a joint-sponsor. You can ask the embassy if they will except your case, but I would have a job offer. That is the most common exceptional circumstance that is often accepted.
  4. If your husband got a job offer, you might qualify for DCF. It’s something to look into. The process is significantly faster than normal I-130 process. Does you husband have a valid residence permit in Italy?
  5. Check out timelines for Ghana K1s here: https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/filterlist.php Enter visa as K1, country as Ghana and set for detailed results. It looks like there are a few records of people who have received visas recently.
  6. I saw someone on Facebook recently who said it took about 6 months for K1 interview. I don’t know if representative that is of the average wait.
  7. Maybe this post will help: Seems like other people have had similar issues. Looks like sending the certificate of acceptance resolved the issue. Everything you’ve submitted is translated?
  8. This is where you want to check: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Japan.html
  9. What was the date you were documentarily qualified? Interview dates seem to be happening 1-2 years after that. Accra is really backed up from Covid.
  10. From Facebook groups it seems like people are waiting 1-2 years after DQ for an interview.
  11. Interesting, I (the petitioner) was the only one allowed in the embassy for the first step. I guess different things at different embassies.
  12. What kind of work do you do? If it is something remote, I’d look into the digital nomad visa. That way you could wait out the visa processing time with your girlfriend in Spain. US immigration is not fast or convenient. If Spain based, you could also potentially try for direct consular filing, which is about as fast as US immigration gets. Anyways, another option to consider.
  13. Yep, get a job offer in the US as your time is winding down in Qatar. Then contact the US embassy there to do DCF. You should have a back up plan in case they don’t accept. Would you be able to move back to the UK and establish residency? That embassy seems to accept a lot of petitions under that circumstance.
  14. Yeah we got that “actively being reviewed” message soon after submitting an I-130 for my wife’s sister. That was over a year ago and frankly I hope they are not wasting resources on it, she’s not going to be immigrating for (15, 20, 25, 30?) years.
  15. We qualified based on assets. But I also had my wife bring in I-864 and I864a from my parents just in case. Are you planning on regular I-130 filing or DCF?
  16. Since special circumstances have been required, short notice job relocation is the one that I’ve seen used successfully most often. I think you want them to accept your petition on the first try, otherwise they may think you are shopping for reasons to DCF. That’s why I would stick with short notice job relocation.
  17. You’re to the NVC stage? When you log into CEAC look under applicant information. The last column should be civil documents. Upload there. I can’t remember, that section might not open up until you’ve paid fees and filled DS-260.
  18. On Facebook there is a group that has had recent approvals for F4 visas. They had 2006 priority dates and March 2020 DQ dates.
  19. Looking through timelines here, the last interview for an F4 visa was early 2020. I don’t know if this is an indication of lack of data or that there is just no movement with these visa’s interviews. It would be helpful if you filled in your timeline so that people wouldn’t have to search through previous posts to see your visa type, country and relevant dates. It will also help people in similar situations to you now who want to know about how long different parts of this process are taking. COVID has caused all sorts of backlogs and delays. My wife’s mom was just DQed and we are expecting up to a 2 year delay to get an interview in Ghana.
  20. CO should be familiar with religion and culture of your culture. If dating is not allowed, then the idea of sending an unmarried woman abroad (K1) would seem to be a non-starter. Might also raise suspicions that you are indeed a relative and not fiancé. CR/IR-1 is already superior in many aspects, I would go that route.
  21. I do wonder if you are willing to devote the time and money to this if it can be overcome. It would seem that you are outside of do it yourself territory. Do you have a good lawyer and the money necessary to pay them for a long time? If not, when interviewing I’d ask if they had ever dealt with a case like this and had a successful outcome. If you can’t find a lawyer that had success with this issue you are probably wasting your time and money. Please keep us informed, this issue seems to come up, but we don’t hear back from people.
  22. I think if you are the only one sponsoring then you would need to include W2s in addition to tax transcripts to establish how much you make individually (assuming you file jointly). I think it looks better if you sponsor together. I think it’s more straightforward too, easy to see the correct number on the tax transcript.
  23. We provided my parents’ address, but that is also where we actually intended to live (at least for a bit).
