Hello February Crew -

I couldn't find a thread for February filers yet, so I created one. I got the reminder letter from USCIS today. My Greencard expires on 5/20. The filing date calculator on the USCIS website is not working for me but I plan on mailing my package on 2/18 (Saturday). At this moment, I am just collecting evidence and printing a lot of documents. I am happy to share the content of my package once I am done. So far, our process has been really smooth (K1 all the way through AOS without any RFE), so fingers crossed that does not change.

Here's to waiting.... Again 🍷

ROC Timeline:

2023-02-20: Mailed package to Phoenix Lockbox with UPS Ground

2023-02-27: Package was delivered

2023-03-02: Received text that case was received with SRC case #

2023-03-03: Money order was cashed

2023-03-09: Received 48 months extension letter in mail

2023-05-20: Greencard expired

2024-01-03: Still waiting for update on biometrics

One quick thing - I would definitely not submit your package any earlier than February 20 (there are some reports of packages with postmarks before the earliest file date being rejected). Remember its 90 days, not 3 months, and with February and April being short months, 89 days before May 20 is actually February 20 (see here).

On the plus side, you should definitely be receiving the 48 month extension letter!

Hello everyone,

Hopefully we'll send our ROC package this month! I'm almost done, except that we're waiting to file taxes 2022. Also, I'm deciding on printing the relationship pictures on photo paper or regular paper, at home.

Entered the US as a K1 in 2020, married and filed AOS same year. My GC expires in 05/03.

Local office (and I don't know if during ROC it matters): Milwaukee, WI.

I used the N-400 filing date calculator to find out the exact date (it’s same 90 days window for N-400 as well). Here is the link -

@nerdcouple your list above looks good! Only other things you could consider adding are any beneficiary statements from 401k, shared utility bills (gas, internet, electricity), or life insurance. You have plenty of solid financial co-mingling evidence so should be fine!

@nerdcouple Personally, I would add more than 3 statements for the joint checking account, especially if that is the account where both of your paychecks are deposited and household bills are paid from. Sending quarterly statements is often recommended here. The rest of your list looks thorough and solid. Good luck!

Thank you all for your input. I will ship my package on Feb 21 (Tue) since Feb 20 is President's Day, and USPS offices will be closed. Cannot wait to get in line :D

I decided not to file a N400 since I do not want to give up my German citizenship. I'd have to file for retention permit of my German citizenship with the German government, and I don't think my chances are high. It is a lot of paperwork and needs to be timed very well. I think I will rather renew my greencard after 10 years (who knows where I will be by then) instead of going through the citizenship processes on both German and US side.

It's the tenth of the month and I am still the only soul that filed or will file in February? Have a great weekend everyone!

Renewal may not be as easy in the future. Right now it takes 12-16 months, during which you may have difficulty travelling outside of the US. Consider fees for I-90 that may go up and how many times you'd have to renew GC throughout your life. Going through bureaucracy of keeping German citizenship may be easier and cheaper in the end. Also, LPRs can be put in removal if accidentally committed a deportable offence whereas for denaturalization you'd have to do something very bad.

My conditional greencard expires March 4th 2023. I mailed in my ROC application on Friday 02/10/2023. I see a lot of people are planing to file much earlier in their 90 day window. Hopefully it won't cause any issues that I filed my ROC so late in my 90 day window. If anyone wants me to share what I submitted as evidence, let me know.

Good luck to all February filers!

I was thinking the same thing. Not many February filers yet...
