I'd get the appointment scheduled regardless sometime before DL expiry. DMV can be tough!

Luckily we've got walk-ins again post-COVID so it's actually pretty easy if you go mid-week during the work week.

When does your ID expire? Wait for a month if you have time, you may get 48 months extension letter 🙃

Oh no, I hope not! My GC expires end of March, so I was going to get my state ID renewed in February.

Did you get a second extension letter?

No, I'm November 2021 filer with 24 month extension so far. My service center is processing November 2021 cases, so I really really hope I won't need extension letters soon.

Due to moving at the start of this month and life getting in the way, we left our filing until the last minute.  😬  My wife's conditional green card expires today, and we mailed the petition to the IL lockbox on Tuesday.  It was signed for according to USPS yesterday at 6:28 am, but I'm certainly going to be nervous until we get the receipt by mail or text.

Update:

Mailed 1/10

Arrived 1/12

Text notification: 1/18, MSC case number

I-797 letter (3 years) received: 1/23

Now, time to hurry up and wait...

Just got the text, 1/24. Is there a way to tell which office to follow how long it might take from the case number? Starts with LIN.

You can check processing times here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Right now LIN is showing 19 months for I-751 but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

FYI supposedly USCIS is sending out 48 month extension letter starting tomorrow. So you may get 36, or you may get 48.

Hey all!

We are looking to either file at the end of this month or the start of February for our ROC!! My question is that my wife (USC) changed her last name to my last name, however on form I-751, it does not ask about other names used for USC (only for conditional resident). On other forms (AOS) it asked for USC's other names used.

Should we include in Part 11 - Additional Information that she changed her name/what her maiden name was? Or does it matter since the form isn't asking and her SSN, b-day, etc. are all the same as other forms from the past?

Some of our supporting documents still include her maiden name. We did put her married and maiden name on the cover letter in the brief information area before the main letter.

The form (page 3) asks about the USC!

They are asking about "Other Names Used" for the USC.  There is no such field for the USC on the current edition I-751 form, not on page 3 or anywhere else.

@KBCN -- No need to worry about USC's other names on the I-751.  But it would not hurt to add your wife's other names on part 11, if you want to note it for completeness/consistency with your other documentary evidence.
