This is general advice that applies to you and to everyone dealing with USCIS, either by yourself or by an attorney: always, always keep a copy of everything you submit to them, and the notices they sent you.

I still think that the denial did not come because of a mix up of addresses. There has to be something else. Maybe your ex sent them a letter stating you married to get an immigration benefit.

If I were you, I would retain a top notch attorney and ask them to file a FOIA  (Freedom Of Information Act) for you. That way, you can see what is on your file and see if it is something you can overcome. It's certainly not a DIY anymore.

To save him attorney $$$, he can file FOIA himself online.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

You do not not to hire an attorney or pay anyone to file FOIA.

I do understand that. I just suggested in a comment above that OP might not know how to do that.

I have a lawyer when I applied for removal of conditions he might have my file . I also kept most of the evidences that I have before to prove that our marriage was true.

Would be useful to know the following details: when did you enter the US? Which visa you entered with? When did you marry? When did you divorce? When did you apply for AOS -if applicable- and ROC?

If your lawyer has your file compare the info in it with what you say is wrong on the denial letter -dates, addresses, etc.-

Unfortunately it would not be surprising if the lawyer was the one messing up things.

I applied using the 5 year rule. Officer seems to focus the interview on my previous marriage. She even shouted at me once. He asked me about the address that we lived before and I cannot remember all the details. Even asked me when I started working. I got nervous during the interview I just went blank. Denial letter was crazy it states I came here 2000 which I said and provided in my application form is 2010. It also says my address was my workplace and my workplace is my where I lived but on the application ilI filled it up correctly.

Better to file again rather fixing it

Great advice indeed!

So, wondering if FOIAs has this kind of like letter by ex or something like that?

I think so. At least FOIA would state reason for denial

But first find reason for denial and overcome it. Otherwise you’d be wasting money

My green card also expires this year. Hopefully i can renew it.

You stated your citizenship application was denied because USCIS accused you of lying.

Hi everyone. I need help and advice on my case.Four years ago ,I applied to be a citizen and was denied. According to them, I lied because during the interview I got mixed up with my previous address that I reside. The letter says I lied during the first interview, the removal of conditions and finally at my naturalization to  gain an immigration benefit.

Basically, USCIS is denying based on misrepresentation.  You will not be able to renew your greencard.  Your case has probably been sent to immigration court.  As others have stated, this is the time to get an immigration lawyer.

I can go to immigration court if they want me to. Its my chance to present my case that my previous marriage is valid and hopefully to end this nightmare.

For some the citizenship interview questions are like that at the GC interview, one have to have their facts correct, do not attempt again without an atty

I did not think about it that is why I did not hire a lawyer. I focused on my civics test during the interview and totally messed up with the dates.

There is obviously a lot going on, and I have no idea what the issue might be.

Hopefully you have a good Lawyer who can assist in this issue, there are certainly some who specialise in Naturalisation.
