Install the USCIS case app on your phone. You can give it your case # and it will keep checking for your cases every few hours and immediately send you an alert if there is an update to your case. That will prevent the painful process of constantly checking and getting disappointed.

Also did you check this forum's case tracker for NYC USCIS office? https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/citlist.php?op6=All&op7=New+York+City+NY&op1=6&op2=&op4=1&op5=&cfl=0

The most recent N400 cases are taking 12 months since date of filing to be approved. Some cases are are being approved 6 months after filing N400 but that's because USCIS is holding I-751 and N400 interviews combined and the I-751 was probably applied > 12 months before the interview.

If you don't have an older I-751 pending, do not get your hopes high atleast until you cross the 8 month mark.

Thank you for this info! I downloaded it an app call lawfully so I don’t have to constantly check for updates. I checked the forum tracker as well I notice a few people who have the same timeline as me already had their interviews. Hopefully, next month I’ll get an update.

Today makes it 4 months since USCIS is processing my application. I live in NYC so I know it will take longer than expected. I checked once a week to see if there’s any update. So far the only update is  “as of November 18th, we are actively reviewing your case”. I will wait! P

Hi, I've also filed in NYC and it states 11 months to completion. What is the completion on yours?

I just received an invitation for interview . April. Wish me luck 🙏🏼 time to study 📖

Good  Evening all ! So I have a question regarding my interview scheduled April , one of the document asked was certificate of naturalization if married to a US citizen . My wife got her citizenship through her mom when she was a kid and they never gave her one because she was not 18yrs . My question was should I bring to the interview ? can I go with her passport instead ?  any people saw a situation like this here . Thanks.

That doesn't sound right.  I was 17 still in high school when I got my naturalization certificate.    You should have one perhaps request one from USCIS.  https://www.uscis.gov/n-565

Wife filed for ROC in October 2020. Just got RFE’ed for that. And no movement on the N-400 of course. Kinda depressing to see people become citizens and my wife still hasn’t had her conditions removed.

At least the RFE means they reviewed your case, I suppose once you respond the approval won't be much longer.

We got it and they’re asking for More proof that the marriage was entered in good faith. We followed instructions on this website to a T and never got an RFE before. Kinda freaking out now

Perhaps your supporting evidence was weak for ROC therefore your N400 got stalled until more information was needed about marriage.   The rule is you must be approved for ROC before N400. It doesn't matter if you apply for N400. They still need to approve your ROC.  That's why the dual interview for folks applying for N400 but still pending ROC.  I think if you got the time and patience best to get ROC out of the way before filing N400.  You can reuse and update the same supporting evidence used for ROC for N400.

That is strange. I put the link below, but I suppose you already provided as much of that as possible in the section "Examples of documents showing a bona fide relationship (Submit COPIES only. Do not send originals):"

Sometimes they have sent RFEs for things they already have, that could be the case for you.

Don't freak out - you have a bonafide relationship so you will be fine.
