you have to send both, in our case we sent both but they didn't want the beneficiary's birth certificate they wanted a copy of the sheet where all the information was written before generating her birth certificate. Best of luck to you and remember whenever you upload a new document that date will be the new date they will use to review you documents.

Thanks for the response but let’s not put that negativity about going to the back of the line out in the atmosphere. 🤣🤣

Yes it plays on my mind as well whether we have included everything that we need.

Just make sure you are also uploading W2/1099's along with transcript or tax return 2020 (and 3 years of previous tax transcripts)

Divorce certificate from petitioner and applicant (only if this applies to you)

Also proof of domicile

Those are the most common RFE's I've been seeing lately. Good luck!!

Thanks and good luck to you, too.  I had not uploaded my divorce decree so that’s basically why I chose to upload those additional documents last night because I knew we’d get an RFE on the divorce paperwork. It just makes me so mad that it was not listed as a required document. The CEAC website could do with some major improvements to avoid RFEs like this.

At least my tax documents were all there lol

I appreciate it can be really frustrating, we also got and RFE for missing divorce decree for petitioner, documents showing termination of previous marriages are listed as required  for both beneficiary (under marriage termination documentation) and petitioner (under petitioner documents) on the state department's site, link below.
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html

The civil document section for in the CEAC portal does not have the divorce termination documents as required as this does not apply to everyone who is applying for a visa.

82 days if you’re lucky. Ever since this summer, the length of time has been creeping up 1-2 days every week. 😢 Check out this site.
