AUGUST 2021 NVC SUBMISSIONS

18th August submitted to NVC, last Thursday we had an RFE, but the same as someone a few posts before.

The affadavit of support is showing as 'Accepted' now, but we've had messages to upload all 1099 Forms for spouse and sponsor - although we have already uploaded W2 etc.

I can't get through on the phone - but seems like the increased speed of some reviews might coincide with a higher number of RFE's for strange reasons like this

Really annoying, especially as we have completely lucked out with being reviewed so early

it's great to hear that they are picking up some cases way ahead of their reported date, sorry to hear you got a RFE, hope you managed to get it resolved quickly.

The most annoying part of the RFE is that they have asked for documents that we don't have (W2 for my wife who was living in the UK at the time, and a 1099 for my sponsor, who has never had one).

So we have to upload a letter stating that we do not have a W2 or 1099... going to the back of the line just because they are asking for something we don't have. I also have checked the financial evidence pages and they should only need the transcript, which we have submitted, so this is hugely frustrating.

Seems like every step of the way the US immigration system are finding new ways to delay families being back together.

This seems to be a common RFE, where the reviewers want to see W2 & 1099s for each sponsor, and if there are none for whatever reason then a note / statement explaining why. We had to submit a signed statement from my wife (petitioner) who's 2021 tax return / income was all UK based income so no W2/1099. I empathise with you, it's very frustrating.

That sucks but I hope you can get reviewed again quickly. I saw on a post from a couple of years ago that if you get them on the phone about a week after you submit the RFE they might review it sooner?

It's worth to try out

I submitted all documents to NVC on July 15th on September 20th they rejected a birth certificate. I had to resubmit on September 21st. How long might it take for them to review again? Anyone that is on the same situation your help will be greatly appreciated 😊

Sorry to hear this. Why did they reject the birth certificate?

They didn't want my step daughters birth certificate, in Honduras there is this book called, "Copia de folio de nacimiento" it's pretty much where you write the information by hand and the BC is generated from there. So they wanted a copy of that, which I would thing a BC is more legit but nope they wanted that instead.

So now we are in the waiting game again, which is extremely stressful, hopefully they don't take more than 2 months but looking at the way they are working seems like they will take way over 2 months ☹️

if you read through this thread or many of the others, you will see that generally speaking when you have to re-submit a document after a review your submission date becomes the date of your last submission and you go back to the end of queue and wait the 82~ days  again for the NVC to review.
