You know, I don't recall hearing of USPS ever losing a credit card bill or anything like that in like the last 30 years but I could easily dig up dozens of instances of them loosing Green Cards or Citizenship Certificate or all manner of stuff like that.  It strikes me as amazing that they have such high loss rates in such specific categories.

I am wondering if something’s going on with immigration documents

I’ve been here since 2006 and seen dozens of these, experienced it ourselves.  We didnt move and we didnt have an address problem.  Something isn’t right.

Never relocated. The tracking says that it went to another city. That is the last scan. The post master over there insists that it was returned to the processing plant but there is no documentation of that.

Also, it appeared on informed delivery at our residential address but that has also been taken off.

Is the immigrant's name on the mailbox? Sometimes USPS don't deliver important mail if the name isn't on the mailbox, it's possible they did return it to USCIS as undeliverable and that it was never scanned again after that. It might be laying in a big return pile at a USCIS facility for all we know.

Immigrants name is on the mailbox. Also, the approval notice and all other prior notices were delivered. Per the tracking the mail went to a different city by mistake. It was never supposed to go there according to USPS and they have no idea why it did.

We had a similar situation with my husband's driver's license.  Informed delivery showed it in our mail, but it never arrived.  I filed a missing mail report online, and went into our post office to report it.  The woman at the counter said that the informed delivery service places a bar code on the document, and very often two pieces of mail stick together.  It showed up in our mailbox two days after I went to the post office.

Oh if you can find a way to send it, they can find a way to lose it. I've seen them lose bills, checks, ID cards, insured packages, and certified mail (twice).

My green card was mailed out on April 15 and I still haven't received it. I approached USPS and created multiple service requests reached out to the post office but they have no clue where the card is as it was never delivered. Any one have any idea what my next steps should be? I really appreciate any help. Thank you in advance.

USPS has one job and they can't do it properly... They deserve an award!!!!! And nobody over there is ever held accountable for the poor service provided.

You must wait for 60 days (from the date it was sent out) and if they won't be delivered then you must apply for I90 (green card replacement) USCIS will do its own investigation with USPS and you will not be charged, you can file online

Contact USCIS. You will never get satisfaction from USPS where the motto is: I don't know, but it's not my fault!

"It's not lost! We just don't know where it is."

USPS is horrible, maybe as bad as USCIS or NVC.  And look at us, stuck with all 3!

This happened to me in 2018 when I first came. My green card was never delivered. I applied for an i90 and didn’t pay because there’s a category for a fee waiver if your document is lost in transit, after waiting several months I got denied because I didn’t pay the fee and the waiver didn’t apply to me because “the lost card was never returned to uscis”. Long story short, I reapplied for the i90 and paid this time around and got my replacement green card within 7-8 months.
If your temporary i551 stamp on your passport expires and you haven’t received the replacement GC, you can always schedule an appointment with uscis and have your passport restamped as an evidence of permanent residence.

Trust me I know how you feel my husband and I are going through the same thing....they mailed it out May 21 2020....and the mail lady stated it didn’t have the apt number so she claimed she returned it...Called USCIS numerous of times they never received it as undeliverable....opened up a case and was told t was returned...we are still to this day waiting in the approval for the I90 we filed back in June 2020...almost a freaking year and we still waiting...this ####### makes no since at all...I still say it’s at the post office either in the lady’s mail truck or inside then post office collecting dust somewhere and only she knows were it is...with her bad attitude

Never trust USPS    they lost my registered mail and they can't find it.   I've done everything I could think of to protect my identify from id theft.     They really created a big mess for me

Hoping I don't end up in the same boat. Mine was "Out for Delivery" on Friday and is now "Awaiting Delivery Scan". Almost exactly the same thing happened with my EAD card, and literally nothing is different in terms of my address from all the NOAs which have arrived just fine...

@RochelleRJ - So sorry you are going through this. I'm still looking at all the alternatives. I've written to all the senators in the state and also Pres. Biden. So I'm hoping I get someone to knock at USPS's door. I've exhausted all possible avenues.

@Peachess - It's unfair that they force us to pay for no reason of ours.
