Local US CIS Office Review: Hartford CT

Event Description
Review Date : April 21, 2021
Embassy Review : My Husband had his AOS interview on 4/19/21 in Hartford, adjusting from a B-2 visa based on marriage. We arrived 20 minutes early, and were called for the interview 20 minutes after our time. When my husband's name was called, we both stood and the officer said, "no, just him" in a harsh tone. We looked at each other and I thought uh oh, this is not going to be easy or fun! My husband was in there about 40 minutes or so. The officer asked him all kinds of questions about how we met, went through all of the evidence we had, asked questions about the pictures and who was in them, where I work, what I do for a living, how we got to the interview, who drove, what color was the car, etc... He then called me in by myself - I was in there for maybe 15 minutes, he asked how we met, when my husband started living with me, what car we drove in to the interview, where I worked, and had me verify my signature on paperwork. He told my husband that his visitor's visa was now invalid, and told me that it would take 45-60 days for review and a decision. The next morning, our status on the I-130 changed to approved, we are just waiting for the decision on AOS. Overall, it was a far easier interview experience than I thought based on my initial impression of the officer - But once I got into the room with him, he was friendly.
Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
