Just when you thought this woke cancel idiotic  mess could not get any stranger. BAM psst fantasy.

So a prince kissing a make believe woman to break a spell is offensive, yet blowing people away in a hail of gory gunfire in aa movie is ok ?

So I'm confused as to what FOX is complaining about here.

Disney redid a ride and kept the story just as it always was. Okay.

Then a newspaper columnist writes an opinion/review piece on the ride. Which at the end says the ride is very well done despite any issue she may have personally had.

Then FOX news writes an article opinion piece complaining about the original complainer but writing it in the context that Disney had done something to cater to the whims of the original complainer, which they have not. There is no woke mob, nor backlash. There is a lady complaining in an article and a dude complaining in an article about her complaining.

I didn't see anything about "Disney catering to the SF Gate's writer".  Just that they had received backlash about the Jungle thingy, and made changes there.

I've never been to Disney, is it any fun as an adult - or should I wait and go with my niece when she's 5-6 years old ?

It's chaotic and boring at the same time. It's also insanely overpriced, and you spend more time waiting in line than actually doing stuff. It's only fun if you bring the kids along, just because they have enough fun for everyone to get caught up in.

Ok.

I have to admit, when I was a kid-preteen I was a little bit jealous of my friends who had been, but then I was doing other things (mostly traveling back oversea to see family/study abroad, etc.)... Once I was old enough to have time and money to go, it felt like it would be "fake".

Might try to go with my niece, maybe?  But I feel like the roosters in Key West, the Key deer, and the turtle hospital would be more fun -  [Covid really killed our plans to spend a few months together somewhere this spring :( blah ]

There should be a travel tips thread.

See, LS ma'am:

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I think the point of the article is that Disney has caved on all the other complaints.  This one is new.  Give it time.

I do agree that it is a non-story, and now that Fox has given it exposure, they may have given it attention that will make it into something.

I will speculate that if Disney had changed the story to a Prince kissing a sleeping Prince, SF Gate would be applauding!

The wife and I visited Disney World back in January which was a first time for both of us.  We had a nice time and very much enjoyed ourselves.  I don't think we waited in line more than 15-20 minutes (probably Covid related) for anything.  Not sure I would go back without taking kids or grandkids, but we were glad we experienced it.

THIS.  We spend a good deal of time in the Keys as we have a house on Big Pine.  It's the island with (most of) the Key dear.  I should post some pictures of the little ones in the yard.  Also roosters down at the "shopping center" parking lot.  Was a great place for the kids to grow up.

To be honest, I never really had much desire to go there much like Vegas, or any other major tourist traps, but of course the wife wanted the experience, and I said what the heck.  I would have expected it to be much busier in late January, but we lucked out with the Covid restrictions and it was not so busy.  Heck, I even got the wife on Space Mountain, but she said never again!  :)
