Hi guys, Good morning y’all. I am worried and I need someone to tell me it’s okay. I went for my immigrant Visa interview yesterday, after all said and done my passport was returned to me with a white paper saying I should submit my Co-Sponsors IRS Tax Return Transcript  for 2019 or 2020 which he’s working on already and It’ll take almost a week because he has to send it to Nigeria from the states.  Is this something to be worried about? Is there a deadline to this?

That makes no sense.  He can absolutely send it to you electronically.  There is no reason why it would need to be sent via the post.

And, it will take as long as it takes.  Sounds like you went to your interview without all of the requested/required supporting documentation, so naturally it will take longer for them to arrive at a decision about your case.

I went with all they requested for excluding the Transcript. I told my Co Sponsor and he said he didn’t know it was going to be needed.

Might be impossible to do while in Nigeria to prevent fraud - would need a VPN.  But once downloaded, totally possible to forward by email.

Exactly.  If he's returning to the states soon, he can download and email it.  No snail mail involvement needed.

This is normal when you don't follow instructions and fail to bring everything needed. They are giving you a second chance to give them what they need in order to make a decision.

It was your job to tell the co-sponsor ahead of time that it would be needed. You didn't bring one of the most important documents of the entire process and you're wondering what went wrong? You failed to read and follow the instructions, this is on you. No one can tell you how long it will take, especially through Nigeria(one of the toughest consulates) in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

I don’t know how this thing works, I don’t know anything about Tax Transcript, I went with all the docs he asked me to go to with. My Co Sponsor is my brother and I felt everything was complete cos I know nothing about tax and I kept on asking him if everything was complete and he said yes. I don’t even know what a Tax Transcript looks like to begin with.
