Next steps after AOS NOA1? It's been almost 4 months.

We received our NOA1 for my husband's AOS application on Nov. 6, 2020. We haven't heard anything since then. I know they're super behind (and that they work slowly, even before COVID), but I don' t know if I should worry.

Does anyone know when we should hear back about the next steps? And what the next steps are? My understanding is that there's an NOA2 at some point related to the boimetrics appt... I'm a little confused about what's next and how long that part takes. Any insight is appreciated!

Well, usually Bio appointment  is next, then EAD card sent out and then GC interview but it’s all messed up at the moment if you ask me

- Processing times for EAD is listed under NBC (6-9 months I think currently)

- Processing times for GC is listed under your local field office.

Bio and EAD is so messed up currently thanks to covid and backlogs, some people get bio in a couple of month closely followed by EAD and others are waiting 8 or 9 months for Bio and then going straight to AOS interview without EAD (like me) and some people who were K1 are simple going straight from bio to getting GC skipping the interview all together..... like I said, it’s messy... nothing to do but be patient and wait for the next letter to come through unfortunately.

Just to give you a little example, I applied for AOS July 2020 I just got my EAD approved this week and had biometrics last week, unfortunately the wait is quite long.. My actual green card is "ready to scheduled for interview" that can still take months...

Another weird timeline
I applied for AOS, EAD, AP in August (with my daughter), we did biometrics in October, my combo card was sent out January (her status never updated) and we skipped straight to getting our green cards February.

I know, super weird but I think it depends what state you are in, Im in Cali and nothing was open here for ages so no one was able to do biometrics.. did you already have your interview?

I never even had an interview scheduled. It went straight from RFIE received (I-944) to new card is being produced.

You can find processing tunes for your local field office in the USCIS.gov site.

Pre-covid, we waited 14 months for my husband’s GC interview at the Seattle office.

I'd like to check, but I don't know which service center to select for the I765. We sent the forms to Chicago but I don't know where they ended up after that. How do I find this out?

All I-765s and I-131s are processed at NBC.

We sent in my husband’s AOS in May last year and he just had his biometrics last week. It’s a lot of waiting and everything got slowed down by COVID. Hopefully you hear something soon but I wouldn’t worry much. At least the offices are up and going now as far as I know :)

Yup, as @Lucky Catmentioned, NBC for the I765.  I485 would be your local field office, which you can find via zip code on USCIS.gov.

What is the case number?  First three letters is your clue.

YMMV
