   Forty-two years after the Jonestown massacre, a former Peoples Temple member says President Donald Trump's rhetoric reminds her of cult leader Jim Jones.

Jones established The Peoples Temple Agricultural Project, a remote settlement informally known as Jonestown, in Guyana, in a bid to avoid mounting scrutiny in San Francisco, where his Peoples Temple had been based.

But when a California congressman and a group of journalists arrived to investigate allegations of abuse there, Jones orchestrated the killing on November 18, 1978.

  Interesting to get a survivors take though. I was fairly young when Jonestown happened, so not as familiar with all the events as some are. I do remember the images of the aftermath on the news though. One of those things that stay with you.

Well, that is not surprising... as I've said before he is utilizing things he learned from his church as a child. And once you go down that rabbit hole, the rhetoric makes sense. Jones and others that have come after him used the same exact tricks that televangelists and mega-pastors use to this day. Different ideologies, but It comes from the same root.
