Texas box received packet on November 13th. Still no word. Sigh.

If you're waiting for your NOA1, USCIS is running way behind on the issuance of said document. Don't be concerned, alarmed, anxious, disappointed or any other adverb as they will be there shortly. A delay in the NOA1 is not going to affect you in anyway except it will take longer to adjudicate your case to a NOA2.

Current processing of the issuance for a NOA1 is about 4-6 weeks. You are earlier in your expectations. A couple of key factors to look for is 1) has your tracking indicated the package was received? 2) Has your form of payment been executed? Having those two completed then you are close to receiving your NOA1.

From Facebook, I saw 2 people who was received on Nov 12th and Nov 13th got their payment charged/texts notifications.  However, I also see people from Nov 2nd, 3rd, and myself (Nov 7th) still no movement.

As you progress through this process you will notice at times that this is not a first in first out process. There will be people who receive something for you just like you were processed during some step of the way before someone else that should have been.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process?

    • "the man with the gold makes the rules"
    • it will take as long as it will take
    • no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
    • Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
    • Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
    • They only promised you a YES or NO answer. Never an exact time that their decision would be completed
    • Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

Good luck on your journey

As a datapoint, I mailed my I-129F on Nov 13 and it was delivered to the Dallas Lockbox on Nov 16. I finally just saw the $535 filing fee charged on my account so I guess that means the NOA1 should be coming fairly soon.

That's correct. There is a good chance you will see it next week.

There is a service provided by the USPS (US Postal Service) whereby each morning USPS will scan your incoming mail (just the address side of the envelope) and email you an update. It's very convenient these days to have advance notice that an important piece of mail is being delivered.

The service is available to most communities, but some are still being rolled out so not all areas are available. Check the website with your zip code to verify your location is available for the service. A person in the USA can sign up for this free service here:

https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action

You can also use the USPS Mobile app available in the Google play store.

Just the thread I was looking for :)

My package was received on Nov 5th and I haven't received any update at all..sad but not surprised, hopeful that January will be out month 👍🏻

Also, I mailed my package to Texas Center, I'm from NYC does that mean that Texas is my service center?

Every I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) is sent to Texas for document handling. Once your documents are scanned and entered in the USICS's system then the file is attainable at the California USCIS service center whereupon the process of adjudicating your case begins. Every I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e) follows this path.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

@Greenbaum do you think the NOA2 processing time will keep increasing? It's increased two times now :(

Yes, especially when and if Biden becomes president (he isn't the president elect as that happens on Jan 6, 2021 per the US constitution) as he will open the doors to this country for anyone to immigrate. USCIS will not know what hit them.

"Careful what you wish for it just might come true" We often wish for something we believe is good for us, but the truth is, we'd never really know what's best for us. We also can't be 100% sure of how the outcome of our wishes could affect us or others if they come true.

No, I agree with you. I'll be officially sad when and if he gets into office.

Although I'm seeing news articles that he's backtracking on some things he said about immediately trying to overturn all immigration policies, so I'll just hope that's the case.

Hey, a little concerned here. We sent our package Nov 5th and received 7 days later but since then we have not received any kind of information on our case. I read it's taking longer with all the COVID and stuff but it's gonna be 2 months soon.

I wouldn't be too concerned (I know, easier said than done).  We sent at the exact same day as you, received 7 days later according to USPS (November 12th).  We have also not heard anything whatsoever.  I'm just going to assume that they're completely inundated and backed up.  What used to be 30-45 days seems like it's going to be more like 45-60 days.

We're right there with you, friend, biting fingernails.

Can't say for sure but I think we are at the top limit. Once the holidays are over then things should pick up as all the US Government workers as well as foreign workers will be returning.
