There was a meeting yesterday (Monday Nov 2nd) and they decided to stay open. 

Obviously this could change but I thought you guys would like to know. 

I was extremely happy to find this out.

Just to add- my visa status has changed to issued less than 24 hours after my interview!!! They are moving faaasssst  Good luck everyone!!! Sending positive vibes for new dates your way!!

I'd love to hear how you (or anyone else) get on at the airport if you fly out after the new travel restrictions come in this week. 

Is emigration one of the exceptions ? None of the new rules seem to be published anywhere.

You can fly out. No change. Travel restrictions are for UK citizens going on holiday and returning.

I honestly assumed that they would have cancelled November people by now considering the lockdown news has been public a few days now. The fact they have not, and the fact the statement says ‘reduced’ rather than suspended, and the fact the doctors office think we’re game on, makes me so happy! We might just get there before 2021 at this rate! Hoping for good news over the next few days  🙏

For anyone wondering when you could be able to reschedule or book an interview appointment, this is what I got from the London embassy this morning. Even if it’s not too great news for me, I guess this is a good indication too that they do stay open.

We have exceeded our quota of appointments for the month of November. As a result no appointments are available for the rest of the month. As previously advised, you may wish to check the calendar periodically for cancellations. 

 

Alternatively, please check the calendar in December as new appointments will be released then.

I would say cancellations do pop up, I saw one for 10th November 6:30am yesterday morning, too close to medical for me to book but they do come up

Literally came out of my medical, and checked and some slots just appeared! Interview 17th November booked 🙌🏼

Hi everyone,

 

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on here for providing advice and sharing their experiences - it has helped make this drawn-out process as easy as it can be.

 

I had my CR1 interview last Wednesday (28 Oct), scheduled for 11.30AM.  I arrived about 10-15 mins early and was greeted by some fairly friendly security guards who took me through an airport style security check (there were a couple of armed officers outside the embassy, just in case you need to prepare yourself for that). 

 

When I got upstairs to the waiting room, I had to wait about 30 mins before being called for my documents to be checked, and fingerprints scanned (hand sanitiser is provided).  As an FYI, I had low network connectivity whilst waiting and the passcode for free WiFi was cut off on the screens displaying it, so be prepared to not be able to readily access the Internet. 

 

After the documents were checked, I waited about 10 mins before being called up to be interviewed by the immigration officer.  The interviews were conducted in earshot of everyone waiting, but I imagine if you need to share something sensitive you can request to go to a private room.  Fingerprints were scanned again, and the interview was about 2 mins long in total, and all they really asked me was: Where/when did you meet your spouse?  Where does your spouse live?  What does your spouse do for a living?  Did your spouse go to university for their role?  Then the immigration officer told me they were approving my visa, and that I should receive my passport back within two weeks.

 

I received my passport with visa inside today - I had to prove my identity in order for the delivery company to hand it over to me.  The visa says "IV DOCS IN CCD", which is why I didn't also receive an information packet.  I have now paid my immigrant visa fee at USCIS, and have a flight booked for 15 Nov.
