Yes, I am pretty sure it does. There will be some extra optional security checks due to the Sudan connection. If your name or your parent’s names get a hit, then they need to do extra digging to make sure you are not the person they found in their security databases. Slowest scenario is having to seek info from Khartoum and wait for them to find info and reply, then wait for London officer to follow up on the reply. It can build in extra wait time. Your visa should be fine, but clearance can take longer.

Oo they never mentioned any of that To me.  They literally just told me to upload my birth certificate again. 
 

i guess its just a waiting game. Its unfortunate but i just have to wait.

No, they don’t say any of this at the interview. People are even told “approved” at the interview and still get tangled up in longer security checks. Ten years ago it used to take about 8 weeks to clear security cases. More recently it has been faster, maybe because more records are digitalized. But each case can have it’s quirks. If you have a very common Sudanese name, there is a greater chance of a hit on a bad guy or suspect person. So they have to compare middle name, age, parent names, locations where you were, and that kind of stuff to eliminate you as the suspect. Takes extra time, but you’ll get there.

Literally knowing this makes a lot of sense.

No other issues I can pinpoint. Sometimes you never know if it happens to be a security thing. Other times they will say, “we haven’t received this or that” if it is something they will talk about.

Hi guys !

 

My CEAC tracking shows that its "ready" and its been like that since March 22nd but my AIS shows "send documents". I sent my documents early March when CEAC status was "refused" and then changed to "ready".

 

Question is, do we go with AIS or CEAC? 

 

Also, CEAC turned to "ready for interview" on March 22nd and its been like that for 2 months. Anyone know how long it takes to get an interview once the "ready" status is there.

Anyone have any idea why there have been no new interview dates in London?  Things seem to be wide open but no one's updated their timeline for 5 weeks. We are DQ February 10.

I’m praying it’s because they’re figuring out how to fit all the backlog into next month and we’re gonna hear this week 😅

It’s weird isn’t. Montreal in Canada is the same nothing this month. I was at the embassy last week to get my kids CRBA and the guy repeatedly told me my interview wouldn’t be long. I read to much into that and was expecting an email within a day or two 😂😂😂

I'm working on the premise that with the President in the UK in June then maybe he is visiting or there is some kind of heightened security so no June interviews.  So fingers crossed now for some news in June for July interview dates for people (hoping that Feb 23rd DQ might fall into that)!
