Your K1 expired the minute you set foot on US soil! Carry your NOA  from your I-485 and your marriage license and passport and you'll be ok.

Hi sarge, thanks for your reply! I didn’t get a NOA yet, just a rejection and still waiting for another rejection or NOA1 for my 485. So all I can do is take my marriage certificate right?

Yikes, leaves it potentially open to those of us who filed between Jul 29 & Sep 11, were technically the 1990s public charge rule would apply to.

That’s what I was thinking. Do they mean people from Sep 11 to the October date get RFE and us who filed before are OK? Or are they going to retroactively apply it to everyone even those who’ve already gotten NOA1 and beyond. It’s infuriating.

Just sent in my package today via UPS and without the I-944 (I included a note in the cover page detailing my reason of doing so using the following USCIS statement.) Good luck to all September filers, we're in this together!

Update: My package was received September 3rd 2020 sent via third party courier (UPS). Still no updates or charge to CC. Is anyone else experiencing long waiting period?

Hi guys,

I’m bit lost with the whole I-944 thing.

Did any of you included it?

Especially recently-if not- did you get any feedback?

one more thing: did you include only K1 visa holder passport pics or both; me and my husband?

I did include the i944, but I read in the August group that some people sent in their package without the i944 and got approved. I also haven’t heard back - package was received on the 9th

Chicago lockbox just charged my credit card after filing last Wednesday 9/16 and delivered 9/18. Now hoping for a text message for the NOA1

That’s crazy fast! Happy for you, however, I really wish I could get some news or my NOA as well.

Called USCIS today as we still haven't received the NOA or any texts, but our card was charged 9/17. Got the receipt number and was able to view status successfully online.

It reads "Fingerprint Fee Received," which I wasn't expecting, but the USCIS rep said that is normal. So, guess we wait for paper copy and how many every months for EAD 🥴 and to see if we get an RFE for the dreaded i-944 since the stay just happened.

Thank you! Still happy for you tho don’t get me wrong. But it’s been almost 2 months since I sent in my first package and I’m beginning to get a bit bored over here 🙈 what is everyone going to do while they cannot work? Thinking about doing my masters, but not sure, if I really want to/ can afford it.

They havent cashed anything yet? Did it get delivered? And ahhh i just finished my bachelors and i have no desire to go back to school again haha, too expensive . But my spouse has been passing time by going to the gym, weve been painting together, and organizing the apartment. But the whole greencard process is gonna drive us crazy now with the waiting.

I do literally the same, gym, organizing/cleaning, painting, walks, pool, dogs, cooking a lot of different dishes..FaceTiming, however, I feel like I am wasting so much time/ not used to not working I guess. My husband is going to be gone for 5 months to go to officer school in another state, so I am really thinking I need some kind of task for when he is gone, so I don’t go crazy. Did you come here from Australia? I lived there for a year in 08! I love Oz!! Miss it a lot actually!

Yeah! Mine says fingerprint fee received too! I reckon we are all gonna get RFE for the silly I-944. A total joke as they literally said don't file it and because of that it shouldn't be retroactive and should just be from this point forward. Like why give me NOA1 to just RFE me with this. I spent this morning making a checklist of everything I need for it and getting it sorted. It's a lot but OK. It is laughable I have to do one for my three year old daughter though!

I am so bored. I am not really leaving the house as I am super worried about the pandemic as my husband is high risk. I have a three year old too so we are going stir crazy. Definitely not how I imagined settling in! I can't wait to work as I have a house deposit and I want to buy our own place ASAP! To pass the time I am working on getting my teachers license here and working on my blog as I am trying to network and make a career out of it!
