They're not defending "their property", they're defending themselves and their family. There's no question that it's legal. There's no question why they were outside on their property with the weapons drawn after the riots that happened.

You can't just point your gun at people walking by your property.

The McCloskeys feared what any reasonable person would fear when seeing a mob like that

Ah yes, *anyone* would react the same way to peaceful black protesters. Riiiiight.

They already weren't peaceful when they were trespassing, nor issuing threats to the McCloskeys. There's no such thing as peacefully trespassing or peaceful threats any more than peacefully torching buildings. So you can cut the "peaceful" stuff out, along with the weaponized "black protester" when a video in the very last page shows more white people, so unless you have proof showing they only pointed at "black protesters", try that stuff on someone else.

The narrative that the Left and the media do not want out there, the Marxist BLM organization is actually run mostly by white people.

No evidence that anyone trespassed on their property. Claiming something is your property, when it is not is what the years-long lawsuit is all about.

While that's a nice story and pivot, no one from what I've seen here has said they trespassed on the McCloskey's property.

Wasn't this shortly after David Dorn had been killed?

“There were people wearing body armor. One person pulled out a loaded pistol magazine, he clipped them together and said, ‘You’re next,’” Mark McCloskey told NBC's "Today" Show Tuesday. “We were threatened with our lives, threatened with the house [being] burned down.”

Again, there is no evidence that they broke a gate or threatened them. Do we have video evidence of protesters breaking the gate (a gate of which these individuals have been battling over for years)? Do we have video evidence of people charging them? They may claim this, but that does not mean it happened. The gate and the property is not theirs. It is disputed property.

Its a claim nothing more. Truth will have to be determined. We are often told not to rush to judgement, to wait, and let the facts be revealed.

Whether the McClosky’s or the HO community own the gate does not matter, it is not a publicly owned piece of property and therefore not open for public protests.  When people want to protest in front of a private residence, they have to stay on public property.

They do. They are certainly using it on the media. But that doesn't make their claims true. They have a history of dishonesty here, is merely all I'm saying. And as pointed out already it is not safe or prudent to be doing what they did. Look, I grew up in not the best place. I have seen things and have things transpire on my property and out on the public street of my property that I don't wish on anyone. I've been robbed and threatened. But never once did I come out of my home brandishing a weapon in an unsafe manner (and honestly I went to jury duty on a similar case that resulted in needless death and injury). I remain very skeptical in this case, because of the potential motivations this couple has -- especially in that they have a pattern of doing this. I am not unsympathetic but would prefer people let things play out a little more.
