Yeah, we should instead trust medical opinions from CNN's Dr. Sanjay Gupta, a neurosurgeon who elevated himself to infectious disease expert overnight, the same Sanjay Gupta, who on March 4th said "The Flu right now Is far deadlier than Corona virus"  

 

It's one source, I would hope that anyone reading it would search out other sources, such as the story the came out of Italy;

We take advice from the head of the country’s infectious disease Centre with 50 years of infectious disease experience and that’s Dr. Fauci and his team. 

Dr. Fauci is extremely well respected in his field and has served under 6 different presidents right from Reagan before anyone claims there’s a political angle to this. 
 

Dr. Fauci is very well know in my area of research and it’s disappointing to see these attacks on him and his family from people who have no foundational understanding in the sciences.

Doesn´t seem to be mutating in Brazil, where cases continue to rise...

Have no idea what the data actually say, but that's not how you'd tell.

 

If it were mutating into a less dangerous form, you'd expect the percentage of cases that require hospitalization or are fatal to go down, but it'd have to change a lot before a test wouldn't come back positive.

Definitely a BIG part of the problem,  mostly for creating fear, panic, uncertainty, complete distrust in our leaders, not to mention all the doom and gloom predictions they reported that NEVER happened.

Again, counting stats (# of cases, # of hospitalizations, # of deaths, etc. -- and % of ICU beds in Arizona is a counting stat because the # of ICU beds in Arizona is fixed in the short term) tell you nothing about this. When they're talking about the virus getting weaker, that not talking about it getting harder to catch; they're talking about it getting less dangerous if you catch it.

 

What can tell you something is the percentage of cases that are fatal or require hospitalization. But that can also change because the profile of the population testing positive changes (a lot more younger and generally healthier people have tested positive lately) or because treatment techniques are getting better.

Someone should tell the families of the people who are currently fighting a losing battle against the virus. I'm sure that they'd love to know that they'll be fine.
