Did the (step1) update email thing for NVC. they said to just wait till they get my approved petition lol... 😅 i thought i was just updating them but o well. 2weeks in, waiting patiently 🙏🏻😇

Did you miss the part in the PDF that states it takes 30 days from USCIS to NVC and then another 2-3 weeks for case assignment?

Can you fill out the DS-160 once you have received your case number from the NVC? Or, do you have to wait until your case is sent to/arrives at the embassy? London specifically. I am seeing conflicting information. Thank you!

I have a PDF file that is linked in the first post of this thread where I have answered many of the questions for this stage. I received this email from the NVC after following instructions on the @Greenbaum guide to have emails sent to you by asking to update our email address. Is this standard and means I should now get an an email alert once they’ve received my case? Thanks!

USCIS and NVC are notorious about not sending an email notification even with a G-1145 or emailing them with an address. You may get an email and you may not. "your mileage may vary"

In our experience when dealing with Russia nothing is ever easy 😪 the official instructions say you should contact the MVD, the MVD says this is a service for Russian citizens and to contact your local consulate and the consulate says to contact the MVD. We are still exchanging messages with the local consulate but it’s a frustrating pattern of communication.
