Hi everyone, we received our NOA2 today! We are looking for advice on our situation. When we filed the petition the beneficiary (my fiance) was living in her apartment but since the coronavirus she's had to move in with her family. We are both together outside of her home country and need to update the address where the NVC will send her instructions. Should we contact the NVC right away, wait until they receive our petition or contact somebody else?

Thanks so much!

Beneficiary can update the mail address with the DS-160 and at the interview. If the embassy has your email (from the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)) then chances are you will get an email and not snail mail.

While waiting read these pages as this is where you are directed toward from your embassy.

Good luck and stay engaged.

Thanks for your answer. I was worried that instructions for the DS-160, what to bring to the interview and other important information would be sent to the beneficiary’s address via snail mail. In which case we might miss some key information

Ready for the next step in this amazing journey. It hasn’t been easy but it will be well worth all the waiting we’ve done and the waiting to come.

Hi, I am still worried that because my fiance's address has changed she will not receive important information from her embassy or the NVC if the snail mail is sent to the old address. @Greenbaum in your very helpful packet you mention that we can update our email address with the NVC by filling out the Ask NVC form and requesting in the form below:

Beneficiary: [Name]

DOB: [birth date]

Receipt Number: [receipt]

e-Mail Address:

Should I do the same thing but instead of the e-mail field ask to change mailing address? So the new form would be:

Beneficiary: [Name]

DOB: [birth date]

Receipt Number: [receipt]

Mailing Address: [new address]

Thanks so much!

I have the P3 link here for your embassy. Now that we have solved the mail problem you can get on with preparing for the interview.

There was a thread about a year ago from those who were discussing the visa path to Georgia that you may want to read. If necessary, reach out to some of the members there and see if they can help with any specific questions. Your embassy is very lite on applicants to converse with. Good luck and stay engaged.

NOA1 early January, don't have date with me right now (was between Jan 6 and Jan 10)

NOA2 June 2 though I didn't get the mail until June 6

Any insight on what's going on with the backlog that consulates are facing?

I'm actually weathering the storm down here with my fiance in Mexico and we've considered just getting married when the registro civil opens (not an option at the moment because it is closed) and restarting process via the  I-130 process.

Given the situation my work is 100% remote for foreseeable future so that changes a lot of things.

Have not done anything yet, curious what y'all have to say about how you think it will go in the consulate phase.

If you marry, then your K-1 application is now dead. Submitting a I-130, Petition for Alien Relative is simple when using the guides here on VJ but you have burned through the K-1 waiting time that you have already invested.

Given the situation my work is 100% remote for foreseeable future so that changes a lot of things.

It's now up to you. Since you can visit her in Mex then the wait doesn't seem to be a factor as it is for others. Good luck and stay engaged.

Approved today!
NOA1: Feb 13th

NOA2: June 12!!!!!!

Ive read all the post in this thread from the tips & tricks to the p3 & consulate Information.

I read somewhere in this thread that the noa2 is valid for 4 months then we must request an extension. Interesting. I pray that within these next couple of months that embassy’s begin to operate as usual.

So happy to be here!!

(💵 tipping the wait staff! ) lol

You much more ahead in your understanding of what is upcoming in this process then others who haven't taken the time to research. This group is a small sliver of what VJ has to offer. Take a look around and see what other conversations are taking place or where to find additional tid bits of information. TIP: select your flag in your profile in the left column and see where it takes you. It's like a box of chocolates you just don't know what you'll get in your next selection. Good luck and stay engaged.

Thanks so much! I will try to find this thread. The only tricky document on the list seems to be the police certificate from Russia where my fiancé studied for six years.
