Well, I didn't necessarily mean I'll rush to be one of the first, but once we have something, after a while, yeah I will definitely go for it before I go for the flu.

Well, with over 20 years' worth of experience with forced vaccinations in the military (and a few that were recalled after mistakes were realized {thankfully, I flushed THOSE pills]), I am reluctant to believe what the "experts" tell me is best for me.  As an example, I was "forced" to take mefloquine at one point.  (Go ahead and research that drug vs HCQ), but I refused, and am here talking about it, as opposed to suffering like some of my former acquaintances do today.

Where are your numbers coming from. I stoped the chart at a random date. April 8th it said there were 1905 deaths in the USA. That is spot on

After discussing the chart with NB2, he helped me understand something I was missing about the graphic.  The daily covid deaths are real-time, whereas the other deaths it is being compared against are averages. So back to his original question, the answer is that the numbers are valid.  Sorry I misunderstood you, @Nature Boy 2.0.

I still maintain my stance that it is a misleading graphic, other than to illustrate how quickly the daily death toll has risen.  Fingers crossed that it begins falling just as quickly, and soon...

What are the odds huh. LOL  You are so in depth, that I just assumed I was missing something. My attention span is the 2nd smartest thing I have  Yall that have been here a while know I get a nose bleed when yall go into those 4 page arguments about very granular points in an argument and only scan posts longer than 6 or 7 lines.

I agree, if they are using average deaths for all other causes and total daily for Covid19, it is apples and oranges.

I get a nose bleed

The latest computer models (which, having been compiled by experts, cannot be questioned) say that nosebleeds are cured by upvoting my posts.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

What is the standard used for the flu?

My understanding that for the flu it is a combination of flu tests extrapolated to the entire population, so essentially an estimate.

Each year CDC estimates the burden of influenza in the U.S. CDC uses modeling to estimate the number of influenza illnesses, medical visits, flu-associated hospitalizations, and flu-associated deaths that occur in the U.S. in a given season. The methods used to calculate these estimates are described on CDC’s webpage, How CDC Estimates the Burden of Seasonal Influenza in the U.S.

Some people don't take the vaccine, and do not get the flu.  Some take the vaccine and do not get the flu.  Some take the vaccine and DO get the flu.

Thankfully, I am now in the first group, perhaps for the rest of my life.  Only time will tell.

Just don't forget for many who don't take the vaccine and don't get the flu, it's because many others do take the vaccine. So called herd immunity doesn't require everyone be vaccinated, just most people. If we all stopped getting flu shots, exponentially more people would get sick with flu every year.
