Extension Letter and other?s

Hey VJ users,

Once the RoC package has been sent and the check or card has been cashed roughly how long does it take for you to receive the extension letter?

We will be filing RoC next month and have started to print some stuff off to create our folder, is it fine to use a ring binder and folder pages. I note not to staple anything and use paperclips?

Additionally, since my last biometrics for AoS, when I went to the doctor to have a yearly medical (I'm the type not to go to the doctor unless my Mrs nudges me too) and noticed my height is actually 6'0 ..(6'0.007) instead of 5'11 ...I'm literally just 6'0. ..this won't cause any issues for removal of conditions as my driving license has 5'11 which I will submit a copy of when submitting RoC (to show both me and my wife DL are at same address) and this was the height used at the last biometrics few years ago. Years ago I had my height checked and it was 5'11 ...maybe my posture improved from weight-loss?

Whenever in the future I update my DL I will put the 6'0 I know that 5'11 and 6'0 are not far off I tend to overthink and get anxious about these things.

Thanks, that's good to know.

I hope other users on here who may have insight into my other question can answer this, I think I am over worrying about 1 inch here or half a centimetre that makes it 6'0 etc. I know this shouldn't effect anything but I can update my height in future biometrics and weight since I've gained weight 😬

Not sure why you're even thinking about this... But no, won't have any impact on anything whatsoever. My DL says I weigh 130lbs.. let's just say that's... not quite true..

NO, do not us a ring binder. Not sure what you mean by “folder pages” but don’t use them. Stack your papers with one big clip and send them off.  I even skipped the cover letter. Keep it simple.

Thank you...I know I am being ridiculous when I have my next biometrics I will put 6'0 this won't be an issue and will just update my height by a mere inch! ...Apologies what I meant by folder pages was the clear pockets to go in a ring binder. Though per the site it appears that ring binders should not be used,I have a fold out plastic folder that I can use instead with slots to place each document.

Thank you I saw this and saw it is noted not to use a ring binder style folder that can't be easily disassembled.

Thank you, I was thinking of using a folder that expands so there is no plastic pockets needed or ring binder, your right I get stressed over the smallest things.

Thank you, I was thinking of using a expanding file similar to below as it has built in tab dividers and does not require any plastic sheets like a ring binder would.

Just use folders and not any type of binder.

I would spend as little money as possible on whatever folder/binder you will send USCIS because they will remove it and throw it out once they get your file. Just organize it with tab/dividers and clips, that will be enough for them to figure it out and then put it in their own order. No need to staple anything either.

Send just papers. Everything else will be thrown away in the mail room where the contractors make a standard file folder for every application.  A USCIS adjudicator will never see your efforts. Don’t waste your money or the contractors time spent pulling out pages. Instead of a clip, I put mine in a old file folder with scribbles and coffee stains just to squash it down enough to feed into one of those flat Priority Mail mailers made of thin cardboard type material.

  • 4 weeks later...

I know I asked before but I was wondering what I should put for height I'm a bit paranoid about it.

When I had my medical for first time they measured my height as 182.9cm (6'0) though I always thought I was 5'11 as this is what is on my DL and previous biometric.

182.9 cm = 6 feet 0.00787 inch

Although I am not sure how accurate this is to the precise point as 182.8cm is 5'11

182.8 cm = 5 feet 11.969 inch

As stupid as this sounds I would measure myself at home but I cant get an accurate reading and I know I can't get measured just now at the doctor's again to confirm because of covid they aren't doing annual medicals.

Apologies for messaging again about this I am just worried if I put 6'0 as height and then go for another medical that my height will be measured just under 6'0 as it seems to be a 0.1cm difference of the two heights?

Also when submitting photos is it advised to write on the back of each photo with a description of the photo and mention those who are in it. We got them printed off but just curious if we should write on the back of each one if that is what others have done?

Hopefully someone can answer the above and put mind at ease.

I don't know if it's advised but we wrote the year and place of each picture.

I'd just say 5'11 since that's on your DL. Don't sweat it, it's not a significant difference. I'm 163cm but I write 5'4 on everything because 5'3 is too short. I don't think they expect me to say 5'35, I hope not lol
