Hello everyone,

I hadn't joined before cos of the brouhaha about the ban

DQ - Jan 14

IL - Feb 24

Interview date is 31st March

F1

For those who have done medicals I have 5months plus validity on my International passport is this a really strict rule, would they still do the medicals if I book.

Same with the interview date - by then I'd be 5months validity.

Renewing a passport in my country Nigeria can sometimes take awhile

US ban all US Travel from Europe.

Not right now they have not; Italy is under lockdown but Europeans from other countries are still able to travel to the US right now, though US is considering raising travel advisory to Europe to Level 3. Though that does not ban travel of Europeans to here, only advises and discourages Americans from traveling to there. However right now there are no current travel bans or restrictions

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

Have found the article on it now, it’s effective for 30 days starting from Friday. I don’t think it will effect us anyways as my husbands interview is not for 3 weeks so the ban will be long over by the time he even receives his passport back in the mail (as it takes 2-3 weeks for it to get back to Denmark from Sweden by mail anyways)

As is, it should not be affecting the majority of us anyway, as it says it does not, for instance, apply to spouses of US citizens (for now 🤪) (making this assumption based on this being a CR1/IR1 subthread 🙈 no offense to anyone filing for a different category!)
