Don't get me wrong.  I would too.  But, just like I think it is not fair that summer 2023 got approved before us (September 2022).  While I would be happy about my approval, I would know it is not fair to get approved prior to those before me (like 2020 and 2021 filers).

It is literally the process they are using (LIFO).  So, it is a fact (more than hope) that you will be approved before us (September 2022) and older cases.

To give you some perspective, there have only been 10 cases approved out of my block versus your 38. LOL

I would guess something else might be going on - potentially military cases who are planning to deploy?

 

Also I don't think we should get too excited as for the 2023 blocks less than 1% of cases have been approved (!).

Yeah, it is sad.  Again, that's why I said I don't think it is fair that some 2023 are getting approved faster than those waiting since 2020 and 2021.  While there are some that are military orders, they have also publicly announced the LIFO approach - which is the thing that gets to me.  But, it is not like USCIS will listen to me whine. LOL

This is ridiculous and so discouraging... I see approved cases that were received in January 2023 (!!!). And those whos papers were received in 2021 are stuck in limbo😡

Sadly, it will happen more and more, which is why I was complaining before. LOL

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for those that are approved and I would love to be approved soon.  But, I don't think it is fair that they are using the LIFO approach.  I get approving cases for other circumstances such as the military, etc.  But, I know that not all those approvals are special cases, they are in fact the LIFO approach.

I don't think it will happen, but I am intrigued to see if we get approved sooner rather than later (we are a September 2022 filer so closer to the recent December 2022 and January 2023 approvals).  Mainly, just to prove that they are applying this approach.

Of course, more than anything, I hope those before us get approved sooner and before us because it is the FAIR thing to do.

I don't think it's quite as unfair as being portrayed, the stats still show that cases are being approved in the block order of when cases were received.

Some of these blocks have wider date ranges within them, but for the most part the earlier applications are being processed sooner when you compare block vs block.

There are some outliers but they are quite small in number, ie some of the recent blocks have 11 and 49 approved cases whilst the prior blocks already have 244, 827 and 1383 approved cases.

So yeah you're going to see the occasional more recent case get approved sooner but they are still the minority.

Thank you for your analysis. 

 

We have been thinking about applying for citizenship, but at this point I guess it is better just to wait out the I751.

 

If by February we still have not heard back we will send the N400.  Next year is an electoral year and in the past they have expedited cases (don't know if that will happen with the current situation).

I suggest applying for citizenship as soon as possible.  My wife's I-751 had been pending for 40 months when she submitted her N-400.  4 months later, both the I-751 and N-400 were approved during our combo interview.  In our case, filing the N-400 "unstuck" the I-751.  A few weeks after our combo interview, she took the oath.
