Code 3 (fingerprinting all 10 fingers+photo+sign) is a combination of both, when USCIS wants to get a security check done on you as well as generate card.

Hello,

It's me, again. I'm updating my last update above, today i received my I-797 Notice of Action in the mail. So my ROC timeline is as follows:

- 90 Days window opened: 27 September 2019

- Application mailed: 30 September 2019

- Check Cashed: 7 October 2019

- Text Notice: 7 October 2019

- I-797 arrived by mail: 7 October 2019 (notice is dated 4 October 2019)

Question:

1. It says in the note that Biometric appointment notice will be mailed separately. I don't remember the last notice from 2 years ago but, does USCIS give us a specific time for the appointment or do I get any options?

2. As of now, aside from waiting for the Biometric Appointment notice, I don't have to do anything, correct?

3. My Receipt number begins with WAC, meaning that my case is being processed at the California Service Center. When I checked the Processing time for Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence (I-751) at California Service Center is stated that the estimated time range 15 Months to 20.5 Months... hubba hubba... that's quite a waiting time. How accurate is this estimation? Am I foolish to think that I will get my Permanent Green Card before Christmas 2019??

Please advise.

Best,

J/G

1. USCIS will send you a specific appointment time.  You can check whether the ASC where your appointment is takes walk-ins, and if they do you can bring your appointment letter and attempt a walk-in appointment.  There are obviously no guarantees that they'll see you, but a lot of people think it's easier than trying to reschedule with USCIS (they won't let you pick your appointment time, they'll just send you another one.)

2. Nope, just wait to hear if they need anything from you.  It'll likely be the biometrics notice or a notice that they're using your biometrics from last time and you don't have to have another biometrics appointment.

3.  The processing times listed on the USCIS website are broadly accurate, although no guarantees about how quickly or slowly your case will go.  There's basically no chance you'll get your green card by December this year, which is why they sent you an 18 month extension notice (I think they used to send 12 month extensions until the processing times slowed down).  My husband and I expect to be able to apply for citizenship around the time or even before we hear back about ROC.

We haven't and I don't believe anyone in this thread has either!  I was looking at some recent timelines of people who have been approved and some people didn't seem to get the biometrics notice until months after they filed, sometimes a month or so before their interview was scheduled - maybe a new way of working through cases?

I haven’t and I was reading the threads for the August, July and June 2019 filers and it looks like many of them haven’t either.

I haven’t yet.

I-751 Timeline/ EAC - Vermont Service Center

9/23/19: I-751/ G-1145 sent by USPS Priority Mail

9/25/19: Received Date

9/26/19: Notified by USPS that the package was delivered (one day later... 🙄)

9/27/19: NOA1 Date (also the day USCIS texted me saying that they've received  my package on 9/25)

9/30/19: Check was cashed

10/3/19: Received NOA1 by mail with 18 months extension

10/11/19: Biometrics appointment notice

10/21/19: Date when I received my appointment letter

6/25/20: email from  USCIS saying that card is being produced

6/26/20: email from USCIS saying that case was approved

7/15/20: email from USCIS saying that card was ready to be picked up by USPS

7/16/20: email from USCIS saying that card was taken by USPS

7/17/20: I received the 10 year green card!!!!🙌😎

N-400 Timeline/ Online

9/22/20: Window opens and I sent my application online

10/1/20: Got my NOA from USCIS via mail (in which it is said that the notice date, received date, and priority date are 9/22 (the same day I submitted the application)).

5/15/21: Biometric  appointment scheduled

6/11/21: Biometrics completed

7/14/21: Interview scheduled for 8/9/2021 (however, I have moved, and even tough I had told USCIS that I moved in June 19, I still got an interview from my old address). I cancelled the interview and requested a new date.

9/8/21: New interview scheduled for 10/28/21

10/28/21: Interview day! Interviewer was super nice, not much of wait. I brought some documents, He told me that I did the favor of submitting more than enough documents online and he did not have to see any more documents and that he would recommend my case to be approved. (Also, he laughed a lot after seeing a picture of my husband and I with Rosie O'Donnell)

10/29/21: I checked on my USCIS that my oath ceremony was schedule for 11/10/21. It was really quick, actually the letter only arrived around 11/5, but they upload myUSCIS much quicker than USPS delivers the mail.

11/10/21: I became an american citizen and my journey here is over. Thank you everyone for the advice and good luck!
