Great news,congratulations!

So basically, it's takes them 1 week after the delivery of documents to send the text with case number?

Awesome!

Thank you!  I think the timeframe definitely depends - it looks like some people have their cash checked before they receive the text, some people receive the text first, and some people don't receive notification until they get the hard copy, even when they've filled out the enotification form.

Go figure!

Hi, my window for ROC opens up on Oct 4th which is a Friday so I’ll probably send my documents on the 3rd or 4th which means they’ll get to USCIS on the weekend (lame). I read in this thread that the forms and cover letter shouldn’t be dated earlier than the date that your window opens. Is that really true? That seems so  extremely picky

Hi again! :)

Don't send in your documents early, not even a day. They can and most likely will reject your package if you try to do that. Wait it out a few more days and use the USCIS calculator to make sure you're on track with the exact date. ROC takes so long currently that it honestly doesn't make much of a difference if you send it in day 1 or day 89 in all reality, most of us will be able to apply and get scheduled for an interview for our N-400's before the I-751 even gets looked at.

Edit: Usually they go by the postmark or date on the label, and there will definitely be one, even if you try to be sneaky.

Hey hey great to see you again! :)

i definitely won’t send my documents in early I didn’t plan on doing that. What I meant was that the cover letter and other stuff supposedly aren’t even allowed to be dated earlier than my window opens. So my window opens on Oct 4th so all forms that I sign with date and cover letter and stuff need to be dated no earlier than October 4th. I guess I will have to re-print everything with a new date. I had everything ready to be sent off on October 4th but now I have to change the dates on the paper.

I was thinking about doing that on our phone bills bc it is hard to find on it where you can tell that it’s both our phone numbers on the joint phone bill summary. But then again from what I’ve seen the first thing they do is just scan all documents in a black and white version into the system so a normal highlighter will be hard to see anyways...

I didn't because I listed evidence in the order of highest to lowest value, with durable power of Attorney and living will near the top.

Well, I think the potential issue with signing and dating things before the window opens is that you technically aren't eligible before then.  So it might look like you've filled out the application before you were eligible to do so.  They'll reject applications and send packets back for the tiniest things, so I figured better safe than sorry and dated everything for after the window opened.

We got an email from VJ saying that based on our timeline and similar ROC timelines, the estimated date we might be approved is October 27, 2020!  About what we were expecting and we'll have applied for citizenship by then anyway, just interesting to see the calculations :)
