Event Description

Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled for 10:30. I got to the embassy around 10:05,
and the first thing I had to do was to go through a security check.
I had to leave my bag and phone in there. Then I was told to go to the waiting area, where I had to take a number. It took about 10-15 minutes until my number was called and I had to go to the desk to give them the documents that I had brought with me, then I was told to have a seat and wait while they go through them. It took another 10-15 minutes until
I was called back to the desk (different person this time) for my actual interview.

The interview was in English and it started off by swearing that everything in the documents and what I was about to tell them is true, and then I had my fingerprints taken. It was only a very brief interview and all I was asked was:

Why do you want to move to the United States?

How did we meet?

How long have we been engaged?

How long have we been dating?

When are we planning to have our wedding?

Have I been to the US?

Has your fiance been to Finland?

After this, she told me that they have everything they need to issue my visa and I will be receiving it in about a week. Overall it was very smooth and pleasant. It seemed like there were two people doing the interviews, a man and a woman. The woman interviewed me and she was very nice. So was he from what I overheard him interviewing someone else. The whole thing lasted a little less than an hour, since I was out at 11.
Rating : Very Good

Embassy Review : It was smooth and easy. The longest part was waiting for my bags.
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
