  1. I think not every state was enforcing the law where you need to be a LPR or citizen in order to re-new/obtain the CDL so he did it in a different state.
  2. Hello I don't remember whether you can contact your alderman or your congressman about your case. I know I did it for my case but I don't recall who it was. We are trying to see if alderman/congressman involvement may move the case forward. Can someone tell me whether it is the alderman or congressman? Thank you.
  3. I will have to check with my attorney but I think at this point it may be pointless to submit this. But I believe the attorney said that since my dad has an income, then I technically am financially responsible for my mom. I am not 100% sure but I will check with my attorney.
  4. Thanks for your input and I am a qualifying relative. If that was not the case, my lawyer would have informed us.
  5. She has not said anything about him not working and I have contacted the lawyer about expediting the case but my assumption is that since we are still within the processing window, expediting my dad's case will be turned down or not accepted. My dad is working for a trucking company.
  6. Not dodging questions here. All of this (i.e my dad getting his SSN and his CDL) happened 20 years ago and 10 years ago, respectively, so it is hard for me to remember. Also during that time, I was in school, so to be honest, I was not thinking about such matters then. Now that I am able to help my parents out, I am just seeking the opinion of people on this forum. I understand that each case is different but out of stress, I am trying to see what others have experienced in a similar situation.
  7. His SSN was not stolen or fake. I know that as his dependent back in the day, I did have an ITIN number but he has a SSN. I believe issuing SSN was easier prior to 9/11 and after that event, some states did issue out SSN. I believe that is how he got it. When we were filling out the application, everything was filled out correctly. My parents and I know that they can't travel. And yes, I know that as the petitioner it is my duty to support my parents financially and I am ready to do that but I need to have a plan set with my parents. Just speaking my mind. My father is still working, the problem is that after 6/17, he won't be able to be a truck driver because that is when he needs to go and re-new his CDL.
