80% of Americans don't care about fracking and everybody with a thought understands the oil industry is winding down. Exxon and the Saudis get that.

How many folks in PA care?  Aside from that, you are right, a large majority of Americans do not care about global warming.

No, he prepaid the taxes. Also I can't look at the article because I have been to many NYT articles this month

I'll say it again, with all the audits Trump has been subjected to, if he had violated any tax laws in the US, I expect he would have been properly prosecuted much like other high profile folks.  The tax thing is a big red herring by the Left, who cares about a tradition started by Richard Nixon.  I would like to see more about what a President would do as to court appointments which of course Joe refuses (in a very condescending fashion) to discuss.

Wasn't there someone here recently that said US oil production has been decreasing under President Trump?

Oil consumption globally dropped 10% in 2020. I don't doubt that North American production is increasing.

So Joe took three and a half days off at a minimum and he still looked extremely tired last night.  You decide.

So how do you explain 2017 through 2020?

Biden is a liar.  He has received a lot of money from China.  Biden really is a corrupt politician.  THIS is what CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WP should have been chasing for the last 4 years.  Instead, they chose to create and promote lie after lie about Trump........disgraceful doesn't come even close to their actions.

Spot on. These media douchebags live in a dangerous (and predictable) meritocratic environment where they're taught to believe they're political gatekeepers deciding the political fate of the US and beyond rather than the voters. It's why they are perfectly fine crafting these corrupt relationships with people they're supposed to be checks against, gaslighting the public with regularity, etc. When Trump circumvented that environment and proved them wrong in 2016, they decided they'd rather work to destabilize and polarize the country rather than learn to code. They need to get what's coming to them most, along with the other idiots funding and kindling this growing extremism and instability.

Those of us with a business background (and not just wives that come from Chinese immigrants) know all about China, guanxi, the way it does business and how it runs afoul of long understood ethics in North America. We understand CCP thinks influence is far more valuable than money or human rights, so they have no issue paying millions, billions if necessary, to American politicians, infiltrating American institutions. There was a time, before all these trade deals popped up some 30 odd years ago, where we knew such a global market and deprioritizing the American worker had easy potential to upend American society. While it wasn't Reagan himself, many of the elements beginning that came from his administration were the ones that got into power with the Republicans (under Bush 1) and initiated this, called neoconservatives. Then you had the corrupt political class for the Democrats want a piece, and under Clinton it really leaped forward (in a bipartisan way), and furthermore under Bush 2 and Obama. It wasn't until we really understood what we lost and were losing (the true cost of cheap things and the damage it was causing us in contrast to those that were benefiting from our loss) did that populist movement resurrect, and the underlying problems were more clear. Unfortunately too many people are far too invested in the "global economy" facade (I was one of these people about 15 years ago, taking all the wrong lessons from my first business degree and silicon valley experience) to care that China doesn't play by the rules of other countries. They'll pay everyone off they need to and completely dump/saturate any market they're allowed to, money means far less to the communists than power and control. Of course, that's not to completely blame China for things, they didn't make these choices that allowed their influence to seep into the US the way it has. Americans did. From the looks of it though, there's some positive developments from these populist left/right movements, unfortunately it means getting rid of a bunch of prominent hacks that don't want things to change for the better as they're far too invested in the garbage they benefit from. They've also created other classes of quasi-meritocratic entitlement you see engaging in the sort of gaslighting and other efforts, many being fully aware the things they're doing are harmful and nonsensical, but getting their way (power and control) is far more important than anything else. The latter is the part we engage with often in political discussions on websites/social media.

Long story short, I don't empathize with the media, when they callously watched millions in the Bay Area lose their jobs due to outsourcing and offshoring (people in my family that weren't business owners had to fly out to other countries and train these people to do their jobs for a fraction of the cost, lest they not get their severance), supported it, deployed their own "learn to code". I'm not going to feel bad as they further go bankrupt from (and get squeezed from the connections infinitely funding doing) what they do, the sentiment is more profound than many understand.

I wonder what might have caused oil consumption to drop in 2020 when people are largely staying at home.. big think..

Over the last 10 years the SP Oil Index has returned  -6.4% annually. Doesn't sound like a growth industry to me.

So we should pump less and drive the price higher.  Sounds like a plan.

Why do fact-checkers find more false statements from Trump than Biden?
