How do you know what it means?😉

@Sarge2155 @Greenbaum You guys are hilarious.

Here's a question to get this thread back on track....

Does the NVC enter any commentary on the file or make any notes or anything.

I remember a thread a few months back about a guy who said that he and his future husband were having an interview in Colombia, and there was a note on the file about a "detailed interview" or something like that.  I'll see if I can find the thread.

I was curious whether the NVC had the capability of doing anything other than assigning a case number and shipping a file.

Anyones application going to the embassy in Montreal? NVC issued a number on June 20th and I have noticed other posters are saying their application is in transit today however mine still says at NVC. Just hoping that I haven’t missed this shipment.

Mine is and it is listed as in transit as of about noon Atlantic time today. Our case number was assigned June 20 as well, and I noticed a couple other Canadians updated their timelines as in transit today as well. Best I can say is don’t start to worry until end of business tomorrow as mentioned in the buckle up post. It takes time for all the updates to go through their computer system I am sure!

Curiously I have still received zero communication from any department since receiving the NOA2. I’d be completely in the dark if it wasn’t for the internet and this website.

Does the NVC enter any commentary on the file or make any notes or anything.  Yes. They stamp a big red lips as a kiss to say goodbye and good riddance. :jest:

Q1.  I'm sure from time to time they can and do enter "notes" but what they are and for what reason you can only find little tidbits but nothing official.

Q2. They typically stick to this:

As explained to another VJ'r.

Here is what this individual told me. When they receive the approved 129f from USCIS, The check to ensure that it’s been stamped. He said they occasionally receive a petition from USCIS and it does not have the appropriate approval stamp in the upper left-hand corner. They are also checking to make sure that the three criminal questions have been answered. He noted that there are times when the petitioner will forget to complete those questions and those questions are subsequently missed by the adjudicator.  In both of these instances the case will then be sent back to USCIS. He said if one of these things occur NVC would know within the first week of receiving the case.

It may have or it could be set to ready with only the electronic version. Without the paper case file your interview will not take place. Start your processing with DS-160 and then move to payment etc. Review the information below for the steps after the DS-160.

I do not have a P3 for Afghanistan. I have requested others who have gone before you and none have offered me a copy. Best place to start is here: https://af.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/ and here https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/.

I'll be sure to keep you updated with a copy as I receive it

Both me and my fiancé received an email from NVC today saying they've shipped our petition to the embassy in Argentina. It has an attachment with a formal notice that has all the relevant case numbers (USCIS and NVC) as well as our full names and embassy address. We're saving it to bring to the medical exam as proof of case number/shipment.

Gonna start DHL-hacking tomorrow afternoon 😜

Just checked CEAC and says in transit. Super awesome. On the bottom of the " in transit" it says... your case is in transit to the consular section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center. .... does that mean interview date has also been assigned?

@Greenbaum do you have P3 for Juarez Mexico?

Ignore that as you schedule your interview.  Thats for CR1.

In Mexico you do need the letter of the consulate because the beneficiary will be asked for it on the medical, the biometrics, and the consulate interview. In my case that I live in the State of Mexico I also need it in order to get the Police certificate.

You can move forward to fill out the DS-160 but wait to schedule the medical, biometrics and interview until you have the letter with you.

For what I have read if the letter doesn't arrive you can ask for a copy in the Information Window in the consulate in Ciudad Juarez. Doing the Biometrics and Medical in Mexico City and only the Interview in Ciudad Juarez you do need to wait for the letter.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Juarez Mexico.

Get the Juarez K1 Embassy instructions at http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ - Ciudad Juarez.pdf (Spanish) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cBWgGJr4a5ay3b4OV28_dC3pgf63ZUr-/view?usp=sharing (English) as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use this website as a checklist. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community that comes behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

In my "buckle up" post I offered to help you with a copy of the P3 for your embassy. I have most, a few I don't. Whatever I have, I would be happy to share. Just make a request and I'll respond with what I have. Good luck on the rest of your journey.
