   Actually I didn't have any questions. I don't really care that much what people are or are not doing in their personal lives or why. I'm inclined to think that perhaps the people who are enjoying a lot of sex might just be too busy to respond to surveys like this anyway.

I was thinking the same thing.  I suppose those spending more time using the internet may also be the one’s responding to the survey rather than those otherwise engaged as @Steeleballz suggested.

There's been several studies that there's an overall decline of sexual relationships in both genders for a while... and this topic comes up about yearly. This includes couples in committed relationships and even those that are married. That follows the overall trend of a declining birth rate. Some studies have shown the couples are really just more into the instant gratification of their phones, watching Netflix, and other passive activities rather than spending time with each other. Overworked, stressed, and other psychological reasons play deep factors. In areas where it's also declined (which is a good thing) are actually teens and younger people, waiting until finding committed partners or not partaking in risky activity. Actually happened upon a decent but very odd Japanese rom/com about a committed couple that had some serious sexual taboos occur that resulted in a very frustrating but still loving and beautiful relationship with each other. It was sex-less because of medical reasons, but they were no less deeply in love, much to the horror of the older generation around them. Such topics rarely play to American audiences.

The prevalence of obesity was 35.7% among young adults aged 20 to 39 years, 42.8% among middle-aged adults aged 40 to 59 years, and 41.0% among older adults aged 60 and older.

  For the 18-30 age group, I don't think testosterone decreases or ED are in play that much. Obesity would contribute to those issues obviously, but I think you would see those symptoms manifest in people who are a little older.  There could be other physiological factors related to obesity involved. Our ubiquitous crappy diets and lack of exercise in general could be factors.

   Probably incidental more than anything. More related to the aspect of sitting in a chair and not moving than it is to the actual internet part.

I think that fat people still do manage to be attracted to each other and have sexual relationships. Everyone has a different idea of 'attractiveness'.

 

I know these studies try to use catchy headlines... but maybe a different question we should be asking, do sex = love? Are the people not having sex not in love with each other?
