Hi There!

My filings: I751 ROC in March 2019 (EAC). N400 in March 2020. No updates. I am going to submit a request as my case is outside normal processing time according to the website.

My question is whether anyone has recently submitted a request for a case update and whether that helped?

I have exciting news guys! We got our interview letter in the mail yesterday! We had been on "ready for interview" since March 2020 (the "new" site never changed from "we have received your case," but the "old" site had said "ready for interview"), and we had moved from California to Missouri at the end of June. We were gearing up to call and ask for an info pass for the year extension stamp in October (because in our state of Missouri, my husband's driver's license will expire when his green card does), but now we'll actually be going for our interview in October! Hooray! Feeling very lucky, and wishing the best to everybody else who is waiting. Hoping that things are picking up!

That timing is rough when you're coming from out of time. Ours is 10:40am and over 3h drive, and we are planning to go the night before and stay in a hotel just to decrease the stress of the trip that morning. Congrats on the interview!!!!

Yes its a bit rough on timing , just glad to get interview and get it all over with .i dont blame you staying in a hotel though . Good luck too .

My 18 months I-751 extension letter is expiring next week and planning to this month. I have called for InfoPass appointment to get a stamp on my passport from local USCIS office and representative told me, they will call me back but it could take upto a month for an appointment, is it normal? Stressed now

If 18 months isn't sufficient to remove conditions I don't see why 1 month is very long for USCIS, so I would certainly say it's indeed normal.

 

Also, my 18 months will be up this November. How did you request an InfoPass appt? What number did you call? Would you have called earlier had you known it'd take a month? I want to know what I must do as November gets closer to prepare.

 

Last thing I'll say, don't be stressed. The stamp on your passport simply proves that you're ROC case is still pending. Not having an extension letter nor a stamp does not change anything regarding your legal permanent residence status.

I think you are missing this part that I want to travel outside US, thats why I need that Stamp and without Stamp I cant travel on Expired Extension Letter. We cant make an infoPass apointment online anymore, we need an appointment via calling 800 375 5283

I did try calling earlier and was told that I should call only one month before expiry. That they can’t do anything about it now. 
I also created a request for outside normal processing time and although they’re supposed to respond within a month it’s been over a month and I haven’t heard anything. 
I talked to my company immigration lawyer and he said that your legal status doesn’t change because your extension letter expires. But yes, if you need to travel out of the country you need that stamp. And if you’re pulled over by an immigration officer it’ll just take them a while to confirm your status which can be annoying. And the pace at these guys work a few days...

We requested an update and three months later they responded with a nonsense answer. You cannot request  another update......

Finally had the interview and things seemed to go well and the officer approved the permanent green card (holding our breath till it shows up).  She was very pleasant and told us that we were well prepared. She seemed to like all of the pictures we had including some with us together with friends and family.  Also mentioned that the warranty deed in which I transferred ownership of our apartment to joint ownership was good evidence.  I don't know if she is typical, but the process was pleasant and we were both kind of nervous wrecks. The office was deserted, BTW

Sorry, I am crashing your forum.  I had a question that people here might be able to answer better than most others.

 

I am going to be filing by N-400 next month and I just came across a moment of confusion. I will be applying under the 3 year rule for spouses of US citizens. One of the questions asks about trips outside of the US in the past 5 years, and whether they were 6 months or longer. I had a trip in 2016 that was 6.5 months [waiting abroad for K-1 to be approved], but this was obviously before I became a permanent resident (January 2018). Do I still list everything from the last 5 years, even though I am filing under the 3 year rule? I would assume the answer is yes, but that it would be noted that years 4 & 5 don't really apply since spouses of US citizens only need a 3 year continuous residency and therefore nothing is broken...

 

(I will be applying online, so when I say on the very first page I am applying under 3 year rule, does the question later in the form change to reflect? I have been looking at the paper forms)
