Wait 5 years? It would be Very hard to get a tourist visa after the ban but you can always try. Of course the easier option is for the boyfriend to move to you.

We would need to get a bit more info in order to determine if you can overcome this like as to why you were deported and what the ban was for.

 

When did you last enter the US?

When were you deported?

What visa did you last use to enter the US?

Did you work, take benefits, fail to pay a medical bill or break any non immigration laws whilst in the US?

Right, if you get married then you have some options. You could file an i130 and wait for rejection of application and then they might recommend what waivers you could file, if any, to overcome your 5 year ban. Waivers are generally not do it yourself, so consult an attorney. Visa journey advice is probably not going to be sufficient to guide you through this process.

The I-130 will be approved. The rejection will be at the visa interview. You will be found ineligible to receive a visa because of the 5 year ban. They might recommend what waivers is available for your case. We do not know because we don't know the reason why you were deported. There are many waivers for many different things.

If the only issue is the 5 year bar for removal, wouldn't a solo I-212 apply? If so, no need to wait until the visa is refused to submit the waiver...a solo I-212 can be filed sooner.
