Hey everyone,

We got our case number from nvc by phone on march 20th.

Status still says "at nvc" but hoping that changes soon...

In the meantime, we submitted ds 160.

Anyone know anything else we can get ahead on while we wait?? Or do we just have to wait until my fiance gets the packet from tge embassy??

I'm going to give you a bit of advice. From this point forward there isn't anyone in this thread that is not from Japan that can explain what is required for Japan. Therefore I highly recommend that you move over to the sub-forum for your country and specifically the Japanese thread where discussion on what to do to attain your visa from Japan is being discussed.

Second item. I have attached a link below for the P3 letter which give you instructions in details (this is the actual letter you'll get from the embassy but I have a copy shared by another VJ'r recently) on the steps you need to follow and the documents that you need to collect.

Hi all, please is the US 4x3 passport photograph size bigger than the standard size needed for medicals?

@Shiran is correct. There are additional requirements that are needed and I'd like to share them with you. In the P3 letter the answer to your photo question is answered but remains the same as what @Shiran stated.

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

My CEAC tracker still says in transit although it was delivered on Thursday. Is this normal? How long should it normally take to say ready?

It depends on the embassy. Some embassies are sent an electronic copy as well as the hardcopy and they update to ready once they process the electronic copy. some only receive the hardcopy and don't change status to ready until they are actually ready.

When is the visa fee paid? when scheduling interview orrrr?

Visiting the Embassy website for your country is always a good thing. The UK's website has a lot of information and here is the link. https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/  I know you will find your answer there and maybe answers to future questions.

There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there.

Great news, and very much relieved.

After a crazy few days, my fiancee was finally able to pay for her interview, and we are looking at May 9.

Since she lives in the province she had to travel a distance to find a BPI. About an hour away from her home.  In an area she is not familiar with.  But, she did it.

Praise the LORD!

We are almost there!!
