Well I'm a bit confused... I read here that the NOA 1 is the date they received the package ( this date is also given in USCIS case status online) or the date given in the confirmation that is sent through mail. Any help?

Upon checking here at VJ it will be the date on the confirmation letter.

We sent our application on Jan 12  and received the text message on Jan 18 that NOA1 hard copy is on it's way. Now, the waiting game for NOA2 begins!

And that's 99.99999999999999999% supports that they have it. Money collected is money in the bank. Please understand that I've see relationships crumble going through this. But there are ways that keep you in touch with each other.

There was another couple recently that decided that they weren't going get on the bandwagon of worrying about every little thing. They would control what they could see and wait for any communication. They were so calm and in love. They spent their energy on their relationship. My wife and I did the same thing. Just let it flow.

That’s a good word. Thanks.

Hi everyone! January filer here as well. Hope you all are handling the wait well. Such an exciting time and hopefully it flies by for all of us. Until then, we can enjoy the FaceTime calls and texts. My fiancé is full of questions that I am having trouble finding the answers to, and was wondering if anyone can help.

1) she is a UK resident and is wondering if she should apply for her police check now?

2) we know this is a ways off, but she has a decent savings and wants to know if she’s allowed to keep an account open in the UK with about 1500£ and then bring the rest with her, or if she has to close accounts and bring all money with her. Thanks!

You all will be fine seems that people filing their applications now are getting their approvals  earlier now so look foward to that. Me I'm 260 days in and still waiting.

Ahhh nooooo... 260 days... I am staying busy in the meantime. I was going to start a post asking what are people doing in the meantime. I travel a lot for my business so me and honey are meeting up either where he lives or wherever I have to conduct business. Based on my timeline, it's showing we should have NOA2 sometime in June. I know we'll have to go through the next phase so in my head I kinda have a timeline of him being in the states somewhere between August-October. I hope I am being realistic. In my feeble mind, I am hoping not to have any RFEs. I read so many threads here and other places why people have RFEs and tried to make sure I didn't make those mistakes such as not signing the forms, not showing proof that we met, not including the fee, etc..

We have come up with a Plan A, Plan B and Plan C for this thing.. I swear.. I feel like I'm in school again lol..

Just had a quick question. On the I-129F form, there's a section that asks for "Address In The United States Where Your Beneficiary Intends To Live".

We, of course, put my current residence, which is my mother's home where I currently reside. Therefore, before he moves here, I am going to move out and get an apartment just for us.

Would I/he file a change of address when I actually secure the new apartment? (Should be about 2-3 months before he actually comes here, during the 6 month visa validity period.) Or should we wait until he lands?

Just wondering WHEN we need to file the change of address? Within 10 days of him landing? Before he comes here?

Thanks, guys!

** This is all assuming everything goes smoothly and we get an approval, of course! :)

The requirement is 10 days after the petitioner moves. Here are the details.

Here is the online form: https://egov.uscis.gov/coa/displayCOAForm.do

It's what USCIS says to do (see "Have pending applications or petitions..." row): https://www.uscis.gov/addresschange

Very good to have alternate plans, I have them as well, it's  always a good idea not to set the bar to high, but whatever works for you is all that  counts. Everyone is subject to backgrounds checks and that's where people get hung up, some breeze right through the checks yet others struggle and stumble through adding months to their approvals. The bad thing  about that is there is no way of knowing  whether you breeze or stumble  through these checks. I hope you breeze through.

Q1) Safe rule of thumb is to do your PC's so that they are not any older then 6 months at time of the embassy.

Q2) There are no requirements for money unless there are local or national laws in her country. I would ask your UK questions in the sub-forum for the UK where I think you will have better success. I doubt someone from Germany, Spain or Cuba is going to know what the UK embassy requires. :D

Hello Guys! i sent my I-129F out TODAY! i am nervous, excited all at once! Majority of the form was left blank because of no kids, never married and no preparer etc.. so i hope it breezes through! i am hoping i receive NOA1 by next week? what do you guys think? So, NOA2 is expected within 5-6 months after that? is that accurate?
