Hello everyone. How we are going to cancel our K1 petition if it's already approved and it's not longer at the US Government's hand?  It's been moved already to Philippines. Do we need to call or send a letter to the NVC to notify them?  Thank you

I'm sorry to hear this.

Yes, you can send an email to the embassy and inform them that you do not wish to continue with the visa process.   USCIS no longer holds the case but it wouldn't hurt to inform them too.

I hope everything works out for the best!

According to her thread from July, the reason they are canceling is because they got married so they are now pursuing the CR-1.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

1) OP appears to be married now so they are pursuing a spousal visa instead of a fiance visa. I don't think there's any anger between them here.

2) Mean? It would be fraud to continue with the K-1 process without intent to marry in the US.

How did you know that they are already married now?

I believe when you want to withdraw an application, it must be a written and signed formal letter to NVC

scroll down a little bit and it gives instructions

-I’m sorry you’re having to cancel the petition, I read the other comments about your marriage 1 month ago, so I’m glad this was about a happy ending ! Congratulations!
