8 weeks? So stressful and they will send your case number too?

This has also been talked about from many who have received the same information. Just ignore it.

The answer your getting, you'll get this with any government agency, their timeline for their process is ALWAYS over inflated. You MUST take their answer with a grain of salt. If you follow this thread with any intent, then there is so much history not only on this topic but other topics. Spread your wings and visit some of the other "monthly" threads and follow the discussion. It's a real education.

I was just recently told by someone who went through this and had a daughter that you have to have the affidavit of support notarized before sending it to your fiance.  Anyone know anything about this?

I suggest getting the I-134 instructions by using Google and then use the search function to find the answer.

When you receive your case number from NVC, when you enter your information on the tracker should something come up as long as you have a case number? Or is it only when it's ready for transit? My reason for asking is that when I tried, its popping up as "Invalid Immigrant Visa Case Number". But this is the number that the rep gave me and i made sure to repeat it back to them. Am I doing something wrong? I used the CEAC.STATE.GOV website and used visa application type as immigrant visa.

Check your case number as it should have three letters and then 10 numbers. If so then give the website 24 hours to update. If that doesn't work a call back to NVC is in the cards, to verify your C#.

NEED HELP IN FILLING DS 160!!!

MY GIVEN NAME ON INDIAN PASSPORT IS AAA BBB CCC and surname is blank, hence when NVC processed and sent the K1 FTP, they put my name as FNU AAA BBB CCC.

AAA is my first name, BBB middle, CCC last name.

1. Now what do I fill in DS 160? ( I have currently filled given name as FNU and surname as AAA BBB CCC , is this correct? )

2. What name do I put here (https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?language=English&country=India) when I register for paying fees, the columns asks first name and last name.

3. When I try to register at CMM Hyderabad for Medical , it asks for first, middle and last name ("As appears in the original ID produced at medical exam".)

THANK YOU!

USCIS RFE email notifications are being sent quite out-of-sync. Yesterday i got a email notification of an RFE from November that has been answered and case subsequently approved.  we are beyond that already... Monday plan to call NVC for an update on next steps.

that is largely up to you but if you call the NVC they can inform u if the packet was received and if a case number has been assigned. once u have the nvc case number then u can track the status to the consulate. 8 weeks is just a guess, usually it is quicker but sometimes longer.

NVC will not tell you what the next steps are other then if they have your case number or not. If not then they will tell you to wait 8 weeks.

If you want to know what is next "after receiving the case number" then this information will come in handy.

The default name usage should be the one that is on your birth certificate and of course that should be the same for your passport. That is what you use for each document and or form. If something is not right and does not follow that pattern then you need to contact the entity that is making the mistake to fix it or you will have additional problems "down the road".

I think you need to reread what she posted.

"Just got mail from uscis today (december 15-california) but it says RFE. we will submit the RFE on monday.. im hoping they will approve as soon as they get our RFE.. i can’t believe that after receiving NOA2 i have to wait 8 weeks for the NVC letter.. haha but.. what more can i ask for we have been - waiting.😂

She says she has gotten a letter that is her RFE. Second, she can't believe that once she receives the NOA2 they are telling her that she has to wait 8 weeks for her case number to be assigned. They way she wrote it does seem confusing but I to had to read it a couple of times to understand.

I hope this helps.
