I honestly can’t file for him yet because I could lose my son . I think may end up losing my marriage because I don’t want to lose my citizenship

Read the VJ Terms of Service.  You can not tell people not to post.

Asking why you lied and what you hoped to gain are legitimate questions.

It’s also a place where people seek advice without judgement but so you see that happening here

You do not need to tell anybody on here what you did and why.

You absolutely must explain everything to your Lawyer.

What happened was that you attacked me for being judgmental because you didn't want to disclose why you lied and wanting good advice while you hid the reasons why you lied.

Asking why you lied and what you hoped to gain was not judgmental.  It was to get to the reasons why you lied so people could properly advise you.  But, hey, attack me for being judgemental while you hide the reasons.

P.S.  For people following this thread.  She attacked me for being judgmental before disclosing it was about her son, her marriage, and whatever issues are going on.

Well I did my naturalization few days ago and on the oath ceremony form. They ask you some questions. First one mention if you were married , divorce or widowed I think if you said you are single but you married you are not disclosing and it can count against you in the future , I think you need consult a lawyer for this matter. Good luck

@Nthom1222  You really can't expect to get any help if you're not forth coming with a little bit more information...that been said my only advise is to go meet a lawyer and pour everything out to him/her and go from there..please be honest with them for your own good.  Good Luck :)

This thread makes me a little uncomfortable.

Yes, this forum is meant for people to help each other. But the implicit consideration is that it's to help us get things right, to avoid making mistakes, and how to quickly resolve inadvertent errors, misunderstandings and other concerns so that we may all have a smooth experience with the immigration process.

The OP on the other hand willfully provided wrong information in the application, and proceeded to acknowledge that erroneous information under oath, for reasons of their own. The administrative oath is that you are providing them all data truthfully.

While the strong protections against loss of citizenship may protect the OP, I do not know whether it is within forum guidelines to permit those who have intentionally misrepresented themselves under administrative oath, to request advice here.

They can request advice....just so long as they are not requesting advice on how to continue to do things illegally, it's well within the TOS to inquire about the consequences of what was done in the past.

I recently went through naturalization. And I know they ask you repeatedly at the interview if there is any change in the application. Marriage is a big change. I don’t understand why you would falsify information unless your naturalization approval was somehow tied to it... I can’t think of any scenario that would.

If you’re considering filing for your husband, I think that may bring up questions about the sequence of events. You “un-marrying” your spouse wont change the fact that you lied at your interview.

And furthermore, remember you’re filing married in taxes now. If you state you’re still single to continue this charade, you’re likely to be committing another crime.

I'm not sure it's all that straightforward, is it ? It might leave the forum open to inimical external parties asserting 'the posters there are hatching ways to mitigate immigration fraud!' . That's why I'd kept my advice in previous posts to 'find a good lawyer'.

If you feel this is shouldn't be on here you can always report the thread. Though I don't see anyone "Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method."

Why is this thread still open? OP seems to have obviously abandoned the thread and/or is unwilling to provide additional information about her case.

During the interview, you swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

When your interviewer asked "and you're single, right?" You answered yes, or gave some kind of an affirmative action.

I mean, I think that's fraud, if it doesnt come up now, it's going to come up when your husband applies for residency.

I agree. This probably needs to be closed. Unless there's minimum time requirement for that.

I'm really curious to see what happens here. @Nthom1222 please let us know what happens.

In my unprofessional opinion, this is a grounds for Denationalization. I think they can strip away your Citizenship later for failure to disclose a material fact.

@Nthom1222I have no idea why would not mention that you were married during your Citizenship interview. It would have made ZERO difference, but you did fail to disclose a material fact.

I would assume if you sponsor him, they will find this out and try to revoke your Citizenship.

Material facts are those that if known or disclosed would change the decision or outcome of the procedure. For example if you were getting a green card as an "unmarried son or daughter" and you withheld information about a marriage it would indeed be a material fact concealment and therefore fraud. However if you naturalize based on 5 years as a PR then it wouldn't be material.
