Why the Left Is Consumed With Hate

A bedrock principle of our legal system is innocence until guilt is proven.

Even "preponderance of the evidence" doesn't cut the mustard in these instances.

Kavanaugh's lawyers released a detailed calendar that he'd kept during 1982.  Amidst notes of movies that he'd seen, times he'd been grounded, etc., there's no mention of the alleged party.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Kavanaugh is not on trial. The legal system is irrelevant. The vetting process looks at the candidates qualifications and background, as well as legal and personal issues. The central question right now is his character. No matter the outcome of all that, the senate can still debate and vote on the nomination.

People here, claim Kavanaugh is the victim of a democratic campaign to discredit anyone the Republicans put forth for supreme Court Justice. Others have said that the Republicans should just move forward with the vote, because they know the charges aren't true. Why aren't you complaining about them? FYI I don't need to prove beyond reasonable doubt, nor do the Senate committee.

Yes, this is not a court of law, it is a job interview as many have stated, so as you say, there doesn't need to be proof beyond a reasonable doubt just as these unfounded accusations don't need to be a reason for holding up a vote.  As to this all be orchestrated by the Dems, I know there are those that won't see it, but it is utterly transparent of the delaying targets being played here.  Feinstein started this all by sitting on the Ford claim until just before the vote was to come up (I know, she was protecting a possible victim).  I wonder, did Feinstein question Ford's motives, or was it automatic that she was telling the truth and Kavanaugh was guilty.  Then number two comes up just as the first was cooling off, and of course now we have the Democrat pimp Avanatti grabbing the spotlight.  Can you say over-reach?  You may not be seeing a blue wave in November.

My charter at age 17 and my charter now are two very different things. If they have anything he reportedly did as an adult in a position of power, then I am all ears.

Is it a coincidence that everyone of these women admit being passed out drunk and unsure of the details.

The only thing that would sway me is, he said he was virgin for many years after the first incident, if he looked in the camera and lied, I would be inclined not support him

Lol okay this is getting stupid. Another woman has come forward saying he grinded on women at parties in highschool. Democrats are now saying he needs to be withdrawn. Talk about an absolute circus....

Also, not sure why they did this but Ford's attorney has now weakened their position. When the calendar pages were released (which is the silliest defense I've ever seen), her attorney stated that Ford thinks it was probably 1982 but it could have been anytime in the early 1980s. Her lawyer just discredited her....what an idiot, you can't take an accusation seriously if you're not even sure of the YEAR.

If this works correctly, all concerns should be heard and debated and then the nomination can be voted on. Given the history we have, my feeling is the vote would still be in his favor unless there are additional details we don't know about.

Republicans were fine with leaving Scalia's position open indefinitely so there should be no pretense that there needs to be a quick deadline on this vote. Democrat's shouldn't be procrastinating in the hope that the election might enable a different outcome. It's wrong, and it probably wont change anything. Just get it done expeditiously, but also get it done right. Once it's done, hopefully it won't have to be something we keep hearing about it for the next 20 years.

So if we're applying equal standards across all government positions I must be missing something here. Many on the left are calling for Kavanaugh to voluntarily step away from the nomination based on accusations of sexual assault that don't have a shred of evidence behind them and are being alleged by people with a questionable past. On the other hand Bill Clinton had many more accusations against him with far more than a shred of evidence backing them up. Where was the left calling for him to resign? I have said it more than once and I will say it again. If the left didn't have double standards they would have no standards at all.

Who says we are applying equal standards? The president had worse accusations than this and still got elected. SC judges are voted on by congress. They are appointed for life. Obviously it's not the same process as any other government position.

If you really want to talk about double standards, we should revisit the Merick Garland nomination.

It does not matter.  Due Process extends outside the legal system, and is employed as the standard in much of public and private life.  I know, that doesn't apply for those considered to be MDR types, they are all bastards automatically.

Naturally, I could I forget. A lot of Republicans seem to believe she is this. Not shread of proof, but it's Hillary, so totally okay for them to believe it.
