Do I need to register in SELECTIVE SERVICE to be a citizen?

Hello! Im 25 yr old male!

And I saw somewhere that one of the requirements is that you have to be registered in selective service. Is this true?

 

Im planning to apply n400 next 2 weeks. I submitted the restration for selective service by mail yesterday. They said processing will be around 90 days.

 

Will I get rejected if I applied for n400?

but yes, you do have to be registered for selective service

Because he was supposed to registere when he became a resident.

For some reason they wont let me register online and told me to print the registration and send it to them. Should I wait till Im registered before I apply?

You can be denied citizenship if you failed to register for selective service as required by law.

I suppose you could wait until you're 31 to apply for citizenship so that they can't deny you based on the fact you didn't register.

As long as you're registered before your 26th birthday, you should be fine. The link NikLR provided states late registrations are accepted and even a paragraph explaining how to correct the problem of not registering, which you are doing now.
