It is worth trying as you are very early in the Visa stage.

However, an NPR program spoke of how hundreds of Ex--US-Military Interpreters

were facing executions daily in war and crime infested areas. Their families

were targeted as well. But, no expedites there; resulting in the deaths of many

of them before making it here. Argentina is a much more stable country, so things

could be different. I suggest your husband travels to Brazil or Paraguay. I visited

those countries by bus despite the distance. I flew to Rio from the States, of course.

Better safe than sorry. Furthermore, expediting and if granted, won t be done this week.

He still needs to be safe somewhere. Best of luck and be safe.

Thank you.

I haven’t had much of an opportunity to talk to him today since I just got home from work. But we do have to talk about the options that are possible. Him picking up and moving to another country, where would he sleep? How would he shower? I hear about people that back pack across the world all the time, but know absolutely nothing about it. How they live day to day, eat, sleep, etc. If it is possible, I am almost certain he would pick up and go at this point. But as I asked in a previous response, how would this affect the immigration process?

Sleeping, showering and moving are much better than not being altogether. I gather his life is in danger so the man has to do what he has to do to survive. Like I said before, even if you filed for an expedite, it will take sometime and time is not on his or your side. Safety should be your number one priority at this point before a visa, expedite or immigration process. These things will happen while he is alive. Best of luck to you and be safe.

I wanted to give an update on the conversation I had with my attorney today.

I explained the entire situation and he said that immigration wouldn’t even consider expediting. Because in their eyes, it wouldn’t be serious enough. It could just be someone talking out of their ###.

I didn’t have the opportunity to call USCIS to see what they would say. That is something I will tackle tomorrow.

A lot of you have mentioned him picking up and moving to another location, even to another country in South America. But wouldn’t this somehow affect the immigration process we’ve already started? Would immigration question the fact that he picked up and moved away from his country while his I-130 is pending?

I Thank each and everyone of you for your concern and advise. It’s been very comforting receiving the support from those going through the same process we call Immigration. Our minds are all on the same thing, having a peaceful life beside our loved one. Thank you everyone and I will keep you guys updated after I talk to USCIS tomorrow.

Argentina is a BIG country so no need to go to another country only thing I can think of that would be relevant would be if he was in another country long enough to require a Police certificate.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It would be much longer without seeing him if hes dead. If you go there and both get killed what happens to your child? All that over the immigration process taking a bit longer and you not being able to see each other a bit longer? All things you need to really think about.

May want to have him visit a local armory as they call the gun stores there. No fully automatic, but looks like everything else is in the table. And a permit to carry will only take about 10 days to process, maybe even faster since you have made a report to the local authorities showing a legitimate reason for the permit.

Posted some information below, looks like gun sales are up by over 50 percent lately due to violence and robberies.

It is actually not that restrictive.
But when you go to a gun shop the sellers already have all the circus ready for you. You go, pay, and provide the papers required by law (you can’t have psicological problems to own a gun or criminal records) and they will do all the papers for you. Once they are they call you for a few signatures and you got your weapon.

Then you are registered in the National Registry for Fire Arms. Other answer here says the RENAR (now ANMAC) depends on the Ministry of Defense, it is incorrect. It is part of the Justice Ministry.

https://www.renar.gov.ar/

You can have pistol, revolvers, hunting rifles, semi auto rifles, combat rifles as a Mauser Argentine Modell or Kar-98 or Winchester.
Being a collector (special license and proper facilities with enhanced security) you can have war weapons, even tanks. But the RENAR will go and neutralize their firing systems so you can’t fire them. Automatic weapons that are already in civilian hands have a modification to neutralize automatic fire..

So you suggest that he should purchase a gun and then what?  I think if he shoots someone, he probably won’t be able to come to the U.S. at all.

He should purchase a gun for personal protection. I'm not saying he should buy a gun and go vigilante on this guy.

I personally don't think he has anything to worry about. Sounds like a bunch of hot air. And if he is in the " Mafia" he can't just go around taking people out without permission. If it's one thing most criminal organization's want is to stay off the police radar, they aren't going to start stacking bodies up without a good reason.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. Sounds like your typical angry man trying to act bigger than what he can handle. He might be in a mafia, but like Loren said, I really doubt they'd get in police radar for just a dispute and just stack up bodies. You probably have nothing to worry about.
If he was in a big bad mafia, and had traced your phone since that call which I doubt he could do, then you probably would've been gone (or your husband) by now, because unless he wanted to pay extra travelling money with you guys then he'd just get done with it now.

I honestly feel like you could try and just use that, but I feel like there's more than likely nothing to worry about. Just my opinion though.

This is true.  And I am trying not to think that we are both going to be killed.  As I've mentioned, I can only do so much.  I did make arrangements for when I am there visiting next month.  We will be staying somewhere that is not known to anyone there.

Our attorney and several people have said the same thing.  Just a small person with an angry mouth.  I would assume if someone was truly in the "Mafia", they wouldn't be verbally telling someone on the phone and continuing with the threats.  As you said, they would silently make it happen.  I truly truly hope and want to believe with everything I've got that we have nothing to worry about and this guy was just talking the talk.  I inquired about the expedite, because of course, like any normal concerned spouse, I want to get him out of there.  But if he has to wait it out, then he waits it out.  It is what it is.

Thank you :)

Hey no problem, best of luck to you two. Hope it truly is nothing to  worry about, or even better. Let's hope you get to see him sooner. :)
