I want especially thank @Greenbaum - the NVC stage went very smoothly because all needed information was given in this thread. 👍

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting, the process of K1 will be finished faster than you expect 😎

Congrats! I'm so happy for you. :D

Don't purchase airline tickets UNTIL you have your visa in your hands and you have looked it over for spelling errors and omitted information. Normal turnaround is a few days to 2 weeks. Be patient.

Thank you for one more good advice! 😁 I’m going to follow it 😎

NVC left 2018-10-16

Consulte received 2018-10-18

Packet 3-4 2018-10-23

Interview date 2018-10-25

Hi everyone. I just wanted to say. I got my interview today. And we are approved! If someone is interested, consul said that everything looks good, and that I will get my Visa when my fiancé send them an updated letter with the intention to marry to the email address. She was told our letter is old, although it was 10 months old. I had an updated letter with me, made just in case, so I immediately gave it to the Consul. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting for the interview!

Same day for case# here and we’re still waiting too...hopefully next week!

I got my NVC Case Number on Oct 12th and there still has not been any update from NVC as to if the package was sent or not.  I thought this stage would go a bit faster but its not.  I am also looking for some answers as to what applications from what dates have been sent already.  Today marks 2 weeks after receiving the NVC case number and still the same message.  From what i have gathered here on VJ is that the fastest turn around time was 1 week after NVC case number and the largest timeline i have seen was between 3-4 weeks.  Other then just waiting for my case to be sent to Bogota, i have collected ALL required documents and feel 100% ready for the interview, which only makes this waiting part that much harder.  What type of notification have others gotten when their package was ultimately sent.

Also Congratulations to all that have taken the next step.  I really hope it is even better then you imagined it could be

"Could be" but won't be as she wants to tie up some loose ends and save some "pennies" as she puts it, before leaving.

Even tho I keep telling her. As soon as u have vih ur gunna want to bail. 😂🤣😂

we have " tentatively " scheduled me to fly there Jan 23rd and both fly back on Jan 28th.

them dates are flexible as I'll be using air miles😁. Cost the same no matter how close to date of travel I use them.

It's been months since I sent in my I-129f petition and I've been really calm this entire process; just waiting patiently while the process takes it's natural course. I thought it was a bit funny that there where some people here overly intense trying to call every day to USCIS or NVC; and even several times a day...but now it's my turn and I'm getting nervous! 😂

I'm starting to bite my nails and get impatient LOL - My case was a assigned a case number on October 15th at the NVC, today is October 26th. 11 days have gone by and the case hasn't been sent out to our embassy!!  I've been checking every day now but I see many on here already with "In Transit" updates, "Ready" updates, interviews...and even some have approved approved visas!

Monday will be 2 weeks already since it's been at the NVC😰

Stop checking because NVC sends case files to the Embassies every other week and next week on 10/30 and 10/31 the ship again. Then we do this again in two weeks. So relax. Phone calls are not going to get you anything right now. You are in line and your case will be leaving next week (hopefully). Your mileage may vary.

Get prepared for your interview:

Unfortunately I don't have a true Packet 3 letter so if and when you get a copy can you PM me with it? Thanks.

http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Chile&cty=Santiago This line is a little old from 2017 and should be used with caution.

https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-cl/iv This is the Embassy's website with all the information for Chile. You'll need to do a little exploring to find your answers.

Also I have this https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/SNT-Santiago.pdf

You should be over in the sub-forum for your area where you can ask some of the others who are applying and also there are some experts that can answer your questions.

Read my reply above.

After you get your case number from NVC it would be a good idea if you were to connect with the VJ sub forum for all things dealing with the US Embassy in Colombia and they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the US Embassy Colombian K-1 Packet 3 (P3) at  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7hB3bl9Snfkb0NiMVFUd2JsVjA/view  as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use the EL as a check list. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview. If it is not on the Embassy letter, it probably is not needed.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for your country so that you are up to speed.

One last place to check for information would be the VJ Wiki found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Special:AllPages and here http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Colombia&cty=Bogota

Greetings all. I thought I'd start the new NOA2 to NVC thread for September 2018. Please join and ask questions and share your experience.

Hi there!

So i was the one who asked you for advice when our case was stuck in USCIS. My fiancee followed your suggestions and spoke to a tier 2. Today we called NVC and they gave us our case number and invoice number. My question is: What’s next? Do we have to apply for DS-160 in the NVC website or we just have to wait for my interview schedule at the overseas US embassy? Many thanks to your answers!!
