Consulate Review: Bogota, Colombia
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : March 18, 2019
Embassy Review : Arrived Early but was allowed to enter the building just before our scheduled time. We stopped at the first window for about 8 minutes to sort out paperwork and collect a file number and other paperwork to be presented at the next window. We then moved to a waiting section which was aside from the General Visa line. We spent somewhere between 30-40 minutes waiting to be called up. We both approached the window and pushed through our paperwork. The agent spent about 5-10 minutes filing in data and confirming with my wife some of the information on our forms. Most of the questions were confirming information that was already on the forms and there were a few questions about how we met, our wedding plans and if she has ever been to the states before. He also had a question for me about my income information but it was to only confirm what was already written in the application. All in all it was about 20 minutes total and we walked away happily with our approval document. We had chosen to have the passport delivered to the ASC in Bogota where you have your fingerprints taken before the interview. In this way we had her passport in hand about 48 hours after the interview.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
