I received my green card from being the widower of a US citizen. It was my wife's final gift to me.

I will never see her again, ever.

Please obtain some perspective.

Filed our i-130 on October 2017..and next month i'll finally have my interview.

I hate to break it to you but you are still at the beginning of this process.

USCIS - NVC - EMBASSY.

It's a long and frustrating process that requires a lot of patience

Good luck to you and your husband x

You are in for a long wait, so no point using up energy getting frustrated. The wait is a part of the process that everyone has to deal with.

I strongly recommend that you set up a VJ Member Timeline, then for your visa type and service center you will see estimated times for processing the initial I-130 petition, phase 1 of a lengthy process.  These estimates are quite accurate because they are based on actual data from the members of this site.  Look on this site further and you will find that the entire process from filing I-130 for a spouse to NVC and finally to the consular interview to finally get the visa can take 14 months or longer.  So you have a long wait ahead of you like the rest of us.  There is lots of great advice from members here which I encourage you to read and follow if it is applicable to you.  There is also much support here from couples going through the same process, to make the waiting much more bearable--when you know you're not alone it really helps!  Good luck with your process.

From receiving your NOA1 you're looking at anywhere from 6-8 months (average) for USCIS to approve your case, assuming no RFE's pop up. From then, for the case to get created at NVC, complete steps there, and attend a scheduled interview, you could be looking at another 3-6 months (this time frame varies a good bit depending on country and circumstances, so that's why it's such a big window). All in all, from your NOA1, you're most likely looking at 12-14 months before a visa is in hand.

The best advise here is to come to terms with the wait. It's brutal, but there's no avoiding it.

I am in the same boat and will say the wait is a tough one and to @Hypnos I am so very sorry for you loss.

I was told that it would take 12-14 months like mentioned above and in the meantime trying to get ready from the change that is soon to take place when my husband gets here. Thank you @shumway1756 and @carmel34 for your responses this thread was just what I was looking for.
