And that's precisely my problem I don't want ti takes these step because Ifear Im going to screw up.

Bit of the back story.  I am doing the process through an immigration lawyer. At the start of the process I was very happy with the service. However I have been a bit disappointed lately with laywer's service because of previous setbacks on the case while at USCIS. Long story short I got an RFE on one point of evidence I think the lawyer missed or forgot to include. The other was the infamous "I didn't send the requested information (USCIS screwup, lost papers, etc).

Now I don't really want to start of with my fiancee filling the DS-160 because we supposedo fill it out with the assistance of the lawyer. Lawyer tells me to be patient while the notification arrives from the embassy. And that's were I get confused (and impatient) on the process.

Many like you are finding that a lawyer can be your worst enemy even more so then yourselves. :jest: The two of you should sit down and do it together. Enter the information and be aware of spelling and the correct names. Once you complete it, save it and send on to the other who is going to print it and have them look at again. Once satisfied then submit the DS-160 and to HE double L with the lawyer. You can do this yourself.

Here is all you need to finish your visa from this point onward.

Always remember you can redo a DS-160 again before your interview (I believe from researching). So please put your mind at complete ease!

There’s probably many people I’m sure who have made mistakes but it’s all about recognising those mistakes and correcting it all completely before your interview. Take care and hollar for any support you need on here 🙌

You can redo the DS-160 as many times you want BUT keep the confirmation page to the one you want to use at the interview and throw the others away.

sorry guys. It's 160. I still get confused. For some purposes, like status check, it is treated like the CR1/IR 1.

Besides that I called both ustraveldocs and NVC and I'm more confused than ever. Us travel docs tells me thst the case is at the embassy annd is ready for processing. NVC tells me that is its on its way to the embassy.

My bet is that it is sitting at the Embassy. Follow the instructions I gave to you a little earlier. Relax. Take a deep breath. You can do this. We are here to help.

DS 260 even if the K1 is not a inmigrant visa.

The K-1 process is quite strange. For a time, it is both a non immigrant and immigrant visa type. That is why the links send you the process for immigrant which would be the I-864 even though it truly is a non immigrant visa requiring I-134. As you go through the stages, within the NVC system you look up your file under immigrant. It stays that way until after approval and ready for issue. At that point, it changes over to non -immigrant. It truly is a non immigrant visa with immigrant intent

Where can I schedule the medical once I get the NVC number? Can’t find it sorry haha

Once you get your case number from NVC do the follow where you can go ahead and schedule the medical (others have). You can't schedule your interview until the case reaches the consulate. They'll send you P3; then you have to send the form to request an appointment back together with the confirmation page of the DS160 and a copy of your passport. After that you will get an email from them which gives you access to the digital appointment system where you can schedule (and pay) your appointment You schedule the medical with Dr. Schulte and they will schedule you for the X-ray. You're supposed to go to the medical first and then go straight to the X-ray clinic.

Just curious, How does the embassy get the beneficiary email? Is there an option for that on DS-160 to enter his email? I was wondering if the embassy will call him or email or even mail. Thanks!

I believe it has a space for the email address for the two of you. It must because how is she going to be notified from her Embassy is my thinking.

I mailed my embassy/consulate because of an address change. But it's in the ds160 too. Pretty sure it was also on the i129f.

Sorry if this has been asked before here. On my NOA2 it stated that the validity is up to November 25, 2018. Does this mean interview has to be scheduled before then or point of entry has to be before then?

Case finally turned to ready 🎉🙌

I already booked the interview before that!! Just a note for anyone interviewing in London and still waiting on NVC-it does take a little longer to get to ready on CEAC. Took 7 days for us.

@rrobin0609

Medicals are currently 4 weeks out, interview availability for August was good (when I last checked). Although I went for Sept to save bit more money.

Good luck everyone ❤️

I just got off the phone with the people from the ais.us.visa website about how to pay the interview fee.

When I wanted to schedule my interview none of the dates were available. I emailed the consulate to ask if I was doing something wrong. They mailed me back that there was an appointment available on the 14th. I told her my calendar was still grey and send them a screenshot. They replied that they scheduled the appointment on august 14th at 2.

I went back to the website to go pay the fee and all but I couldn't. There was no option. So I mailed the consulate again but got no response. I mailed them again yesterday, no response (remember I got within the minute responses on Friday!)

Today I got the tip to call the website for support. They been on the phone with me a long time, asking all sorts of questions as the didn't understand why I had passed by the pay the fee part. After half an hour we started going through the registration parts and apparently I was logged in as the wrong category!!! Thank you consulate for not telling me that nor checking!!! Now I have to get my old account deleted, make a new one, and reschedule the interview. I just send them an email to delete the account and it replied that it could take 3 to 4 businessdays.

I knew it was too good to be true. I just knew it.

I think immigrant visa and I apparently I needed K visa. I cant imagine me doing that wrong. But I cant go through the steps again to see if this is the right registration cause I my DS160 verification code is still in use by my old account. Im going crazy here

edit: its probably even faster to fill out a new DS160

I feel like such ####### right now. I will never get a new date on the 14th.

You mean the questions at the beginning when you register that you got a letter for immigrant or k visa something like that?

I can imagine that you’re going crazy but stay positive and don’t do things too fast!
