I just got off the phone with nvc... apparently according to them our case was approved may 18th. We never recieved anything from uscis.. till this day both websites say case received even did an inquiry midway through June to be told our case was pending adjudication. Now it got all the way to us embassy in australia and iv just been told it’s going back to uscis ;( I am devastated.

I'm guessing with my answer, but I think there was something that USCIS missed and needs to be rectified before it can be sent on for the interview. This is going to take some time to sort out and I am sorry that your waiting time has just be extended which I believe it to be 30-45 days with how slow USCIS works. I would recommend that you call USCIS customer service and see what they say.

My opinion is that you call both the US Embassy their in Aussie and also NVC. Just be respectful but don't get off the phone till you are satisfied with the answers they are giving.

Hi,

Is there any way that you can call the NVC and find out whether they have got your case if you haven’t received your NOA2?

like @Amy & John  ?

Will tge NVC answer yo you if you give them your NOA1 receipt number?

Yes, if you call NVC they will ask you your WAC casenumber and they tell you if the case is there and what the status is. Make sure to keep both your full names and birthdates at hand. Look for the  guide to contact NVC here: NVC:  (603)-334-0700 https://goo.gl/KggThF  https://secureforms.travel.state.gov/ask-nvc.php

I'm sorry for your dilemma but right now you need to be strong. This is going to test your relationship and so it is important that the both of you stay strong and move forward. Don't ever give up.

Thanks @Little_Vixen I am day 216 - do you think it’s a good isea to call NVC and check up with them?

I mean people around have 95% gotten their approval long time back so why haven’t I?

Alsoone more thing NVC working hours are the same as USCIS EST right?

So I can call them right now?

I am assuming you meant to say "is there a way that I can call NVC" and there is. Call 1-603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888. Operator assistance is available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (Eastern Time).

You are required to provide the following security information with each inquiry to receive a case specific response:

* NVC Case Number or USCIS Receipt Number (Place in the subject line of the e-mail).

* Petitioner's name and date of birth.

( NOTE: If the visa petition is employment-based, include the employer's company/organization name instead of the petitioner's name and date of birth. )

* Principal Applicant's name and date of birth.

To be honest, 216 days is not really extreme. I don't think your case was sent on to NVC without you getting a NOA-2. That's very very very rare to happen. But yes, it does happen. And no it wont hurt to call NVC and ask them. Just be polite and don't yell at them for USCIS not approving you yet, lol. Personally I'd wait to see if your NOA2 will get in this week.

You can call right now. NVC does not have the same hours ar USCIS since they are in NJ. They work 7am till 6pm if im not mistaking eastern time. Best time to catch them is between 5 and 6pm.

Have you received your NOA2 if yes then call NVC after 10-15 business days from receipt of NOA2. If you have not received your NOA2 then calling NVC is not gong to help because their responsibility is to assign case numbers not approve applications.

Here is a tool to use. Go to your profile on the left hand column and select "timelines" toward the bottom. Once there you can find "other timelines" and selecting it will show you others with similar time lines and you can see how you are doing with others. You can also find those from your country who are processing and see how they are doing.

Has anyone had any luck getting a hold of NVC to check on case numbers lately? I have tried calling both 603-334-0700 and 603-334-0888 this morning and cannot get connected to anyone.

Thanks!

I got mine at 200 days but I still understand how you feel. The wait is long and grueling. It is unbelievable how USCIS messes up some cases. I wonder why they are taking longer and longer again. I feel very fortunate to have gotten mine in 200 days.

Have you not been able to get a person on the phone (as in, been stuck in waiting) or have you not been able to get through at all? Some hours are very busy, phone wise. I had to wait 30 minutes to speak to someone at times. Try again between 5 and 6pm eastern time. That's their low time.
