Lol.

I plan to obtain a tourist visa sometime this month before I get my NOA2 and visit for a week to get some things start around early December. I thought they won't touch May fillers up until December.. Now I'm not sure whether I can still do that.

I guess I most like won't be able to enter the US with tourist visa after I get NOA2 am i right? Please correct me if I'm wrong?

If you can get a tourist visa at all, you'd be able to use it until you actually got your K-1; NOA2 or even a scheduled interview wouldn't make any difference. You may have some difficulty getting a tourist visa with a pending K-1, but some people manage to.

Thank you so much for this. I'll go ahead and test my luck!

I see that 5/31 approval now, it was an expedited case, he said he called and requested it on October 1st sent in the forms on October 2nd and two weeks later he was approved. Shocked even him he said. I think that might clear things up a bit and not make the rest of us feel so out there. But still the 5/3 approval is out there so that means basically anyone of us could be approved any day now. I am still going to set the bar low to avoid undue stress and heartache. Let's see what this new week brings see if any other Mayers get approved.

You are really at about 60 days more before things begin to rock and roll for you. Once you have your case number is when you will have the first opportunity to start anything in your home country. Go and have a good time. Then return and within 30 days you will have your visa and then you are out of there. Nothing at this point must be completed either to USCIS/NVC or your Embassy on any kind of schedule. Even if you got your case number you would have 4 months to complete the process before you would have to ask for an extension at your Embassy.

I’m confused  about the old site and the new one , could you please tell me which one is which ? Thank you !!!

Old site: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/

New site: https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

You’ll have to create an account on both sites to check your case status and apparently on the new website everybody got 5 days added to their NOA1s. Some people get their status updated only (so it seems, please correct me if I’m wrong) on the new site (if they either get approved or RFE) or old site or even by mail and no updates from both websites. I always check both and my fiance is keeping an eye on his mails too ^_^. Hope it helps you.

Welcome. You're actually a day before me on both.

We're getting close, so try to stay calm. 🙂

Thank you! I hope we all get approved soon (and hopefully no RFEs lol). Trying to stay calm and positive always :).

You do NOT in fact need an account for "old" site.

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do?changeLocale=&appReceiptNum=WAC189XXXXXXXX

You can use the link above (change XXXXX your WAC number) and see your (or someone else for that matter) case status on "old" site. That how people "scan" cases.

Hi guys,

Please help me out with one thing.

Here is my situation: 23MAY, USCSI received my i129f (“received date” on NOA1) and the online status changed to “your case is received” on 29MAY. But it was after July I actually got paper NOA1 via mail and “notice date” is July. Will my i129f processed with May applicants or July applicants?

Thanks for pointing it out Shiran ^_^ I completely forgot we don’t need an account to check case status on old site, though I do have an account for convenience :)
