My 17 year old brother just got approved for his visit visa B2. Can he fly by himself?

My 17 year-old brother just got approved for his visit visa B2 (6-month visa) and he's coming to the U.S on May 24th. So my question is:

 

Can he come here by himself since he's under 18?

Yes he can. Depending on the country he is from, he may need a letter from parents/guardian if under 18 to exit your home country, so be sure to check for any such requirements.

can you guys tell me any website or flight that can do that for cheap prices, i looked and most of em only have 18 year old or older adults or so expensive flights.

Most airlines charge adult prices from age 12.

Most Airlines charge full price for an individual seat which is required by age 2.  However that doesnt mean a child can fly alone and an airline wants to know if a minor is flying alone. 

You may need to sign up with a airline's program to book online or have to call the airline directly for an under 18 ticket.

Apparently European airlines differ from you guys, sorry. Most of the ones I’m familiar with (like BA, Lufthansa and KLM) charge 75% of full fare for a child up to 11 years old and full fare from 12.

I know domestic (within North America) usually charge same fare from age 2 but OP’s brother is flying from the Middle East. I guess Asian ones also start young judging by cyclone’s comment.

whatever the subtleties, by 17 you’re paying full fare on probably every single airline out there.

 

OP, you’ll probably get better luck on a cheaper fare by changing your flight date. Also make sure you are using a local site to get the return fare from your brother’s home country, I’m not sure if it’s always the case but it seems that sometimes searching from a US based website gives you higher fares.

I would be checking with the airlines independently since booking online is difficult with anyone under 18.  I know this from experience as I fly my kid, who is currently 15, back and forth from Canada and have since 2013.

Have you ever bid on first class seat on Skyscanner?   I have read that a great way to steal some first class tickets
