All done. Visa issued.

Oh. My. God.

After seeing 1 guy to give over my papers and fingerprints, I was sat waiting for 10 minutes to see the second person. It was pretty empty in there.

The lady asked about my Baltimore Ravens shirt I'm currently wearing, made me raise my right hand and ask if all my stuff was correct, asked where in the US Mr H lives, if he lived in a house... Then boom.

"I'll issue you your visa. You have a great day."

Was at the booth for 2 minutes.

Total time inside the embassy; 30 mins.

It's an impressive looking building. :)

Called him, he couldn't eat his breakfast he was that excited and shocked that there wasn't a problem 😂

Up to 2 weeks to collect my visa and envelope.

YESSSSSSSS!!!!!KP7nNRA.gif

So happy to pop into the June forum to see this amazing news. So many congratulations lady!! I hope you have an easy entry into the US - I’ll keep checking back till you have you feet on American soil!

Well I called the NVC yesterday evening to see if they had received anythin. The guy there told me it takes about SIX WEEKS FOR THEM TO GET THE PETITION AND ABOUT EIGHT WEEKS TO PROCESS IT!!!!!!! Ugh! Somebody can WALK it there in six weeks.

*sigh*

Why must every single thing with this process take so long?

I know that there are many of you that are waiting seemingly ridiculous lengths of time for your stuff to go through, just like me. I just wanted to whine a lil bit.

Just keep on calling. Don’t give up. Once they answer and ask more questions than just your wac number you’ll know they have a case number for you. It took 9 days for us to get ours!

I called every day in the evening except for the weekend.

So I guess now is the time to be strong and not cry

I checked our status on CEAC today and it says: RETURNED TO NVC

We are both heartbroken, and confused and at a loss for words.

We have no idea why we got this status or what is happening now.

Has anyone gone through this?

Is this going to be an easy fix?

YAY!!!!!!!! LOL it made me laugh because Paul had the same reaction with his interview. He came back to our room at the hotel in Stockholm and the first thing he said was - "That was so anti-climatic." It's not near as bad as we all anticipate it being :P I think he was there about as long as you were, for his. I could've just stood outside and waited on him.

One last question...

How do I find out about my passport and visa being ready for collection? I don't know if I opted for a text or email update with the courier. Is there an option to find out anywhere, please?

Case Tracker :) Paul checked it literally every day after his interview - it said it was in AP every day until one day it said Issued, which I want to say was like a Thursday or Friday, and he got his passport/visa in the mail that Monday. It also did not take 2 whole weeks :)

Håll ut, y'all.

I am so sorry.
I've heard of a few cases that got sent back to USCIS at NVC simply because USCIS forgot to put a signature stamp, etc
So it can be that simple. Maybe this time,  NVC missed something and embassy can't proceed until that something is put.

I'll suggest you call the embassy and see if they can shed the light for you.
Hoping it doesn't take long

really??????

It can be something as easy as that?

I know our case is electronic, but i'm praying that this is over soon.

I have no idea what happened or what could cause it back to be returned back to NVC

We didn't even get a chance to do an interview before being denied LOOL

I don't remember which one I dialed. The guy understood that it's a fiancee petition.

Yea
Everything about this process can be simple. Getting an RFE because passport photos are not the "right shade of white"
It's ridiculous. lol

But my point being- stay calm, don't panic
Call them and hopefully whatever it is, it's not on your end and is an easy fix either way.
Good Luck!

Really?! 9 days? That sure would be nice. He did also say call back every week, so i'm a bit unsure how to interpret what he told me.

Thanks!

Just call back when you feel like calling. They don’t mind. I was also told that it would take 8 weeks approximately. I called at 10 pm every night.

Oh lord! Be strong... maybe they forgot something or sent it to the wrong place. Let’s pray for the best.

One thing I found pleasantly surprising is that their hours are 7am to 12am. In my experience very unusual for a federal government office.

Worst experience ever!!!!

I don't think anyone on this forum has gone through something like this.

Most get an interview at least before application is returned.
